Wii Japan has added a video preview and two new commercials for
Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The video preview covers a lot of the stuff that the
Smash DOJO has shown off already though. The preview covers the basics from how to fight, the stages, items,
Pokemon, Assist Trophies, mini games, online functions to a few other things.
It's nice to see a preview of the game in video form, but I don't think this really helps make up for the
delay of the game. Be sure to check the 1:20 mark to watch Snake freak out like a little girl when he uses the Superspicy Curry item.
Hit the jump to see the fourth and fight commercial for the game and follow
this link for the first three commercials just in case you missed them the first time around.
[Thanks to
ShadowXOR for pointing these videos out to me!]
Japanese Brawl commercial #4.
Japanese Brawl commercial #5.
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

So, to answer our question: Yes.
@Manta
It's moreso Red being able to call out Charizard, Ivysaur, and Squirtle.
Apparently, Capt. Olimar's final smash allows him to summon a group of Bulborbs to attack opponents.
If you notice, there are now 3 more spaces for veteran characters. I believe two of them will be taken up by Capt. Falcon and Ganondorf.
Of course, by that time we'll probably already know all of the characters from other websites.
I just hope they make that dog from Duck Hunt a playable character. I've been waiting for a chance to kick his ass since I was 5 years old. I'll teach that son of a bitch to laugh at me...
but now im pumped and disappointed, not to mention a little flumexed as to why Nintendo laughs at the PAL/EU market like the children of the untouchable... insisting on having us wait eternity....
I mean COME ONE, IS THE EU MARKET THAT SMALL AS TO BE SO UTTERLY LOOKED OVER.....
oh well....
I would get it if I had a Wii, it looks fun, but I wouldn't go ape over it like half the internets seem to be doing?
Does it cook you breakfast or give you a handjob or something I missed in the trailer because I don't speak japanese?
@ Capn B, Brawl does in fact give you a handjob. A rough, dry, sandpaper-y handjob.
GOTY my eye!
Maybe it's because I don't own a Wii. Hmmm, that could be it.
that was the shiz
I thought Melee was actually pretty ugly and this game looks gorgeous. There is a big difference in my opinion. Melee looked virtually untextured to me.
Onimusha Blade Warrios>all
The fun of this game is playing as new Nintendo characters, fighting online, the Subspace Emissary... And just enjoying the references to old/obscure Nintendo titles. This is really just a big fanservice game for Nintendo fans.
yeah dude, I understand that this genre of game isn't going to change much, and well it shouldn't, but hey, I am excited by SC4, but nowhere near as hard as people are going on about the new SSB.
I love old school nintendo games, but I can't help but feel that it is less the game and more the fact that it is a new nintendo game that is garnering all this attention.
Its all good, any excitement for games is just more good news for gaming, I was just curious if I was missing something ;)
