Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Wii Japan has added a video preview and two new commercials for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The video preview covers a lot of the stuff that the Smash DOJO has shown off already though. The preview covers the basics from how to fight, the stages, items, Pokemon, Assist Trophies, mini games, online functions to a few other things.

It's nice to see a preview of the game in video form, but I don't think this really helps make up for the delay of the game. Be sure to check the 1:20 mark to watch Snake freak out like a little girl when he uses the Superspicy Curry item.

Hit the jump to see the fourth and fight commercial for the game and follow this link for the first three commercials just in case you missed them the first time around.

[Thanks to ShadowXOR for pointing these videos out to me!]

At this point, all I really want is the game in my Wii. Enough with these delays!

I haven't been keeping up on my Brawl knowledge, but is Charizard a playable character? If so, holy balls.

manta: The Pokemon Trainer is a character in this game. He uses Charizard, Ivysaur and Squirtle interchangeably.

So, to answer our question: Yes.

around 4:10ish, you can see they added the main characters from Ouedan. (Jap Elite Beat Agents.)

@Manta

It's moreso Red being able to call out Charizard, Ivysaur, and Squirtle.

Website update: Sheik confirmed + all confirmed characters have their special moves and final smash moves listed.

Apparently, Capt. Olimar's final smash allows him to summon a group of Bulborbs to attack opponents.

If you notice, there are now 3 more spaces for veteran characters. I believe two of them will be taken up by Capt. Falcon and Ganondorf.

My guess is that Captain Falcon will be shown next week and then we'll have our starting roster(all the characters on the dojo minus 3rd parties). Then after the game comes out in Japan on the 31st(if it actually does), they'll start showing hidden characters.

Of course, by that time we'll probably already know all of the characters from other websites.

I just hope they make that dog from Duck Hunt a playable character. I've been waiting for a chance to kick his ass since I was 5 years old. I'll teach that son of a bitch to laugh at me...

ok, i have been deftly avoiding watching any of these vids, and i thought i would enjoy it when it came out....

but now im pumped and disappointed, not to mention a little flumexed as to why Nintendo laughs at the PAL/EU market like the children of the untouchable... insisting on having us wait eternity....

I mean COME ONE, IS THE EU MARKET THAT SMALL AS TO BE SO UTTERLY LOOKED OVER.....

oh well....

I know I am going to get flamed harder than a Whopper in a high school during school holidays, but what am I missing? SSB was fun in its previous incarnations, but this looks basically like the other one, except with an extra powerup or two, a couple of minigames, and a few extra characters.

I would get it if I had a Wii, it looks fun, but I wouldn't go ape over it like half the internets seem to be doing?

Does it cook you breakfast or give you a handjob or something I missed in the trailer because I don't speak japanese?

@ Hiltz. Nice find with the new additions to the character profiles. But where do you see Olimar's Final Smash? Sure, we now know it's called "End of Day", but I aint seeing no Bulborbs no where.

@ Capn B, Brawl does in fact give you a handjob. A rough, dry, sandpaper-y handjob.

It's looking good, and I hope to get it, but I suspect that there won't be any more sequels after this... the series hasn't jumped the shark, but it looks like it's considering putting the water skis on.

I'm sure I'll love this game, but I can't help but think the graphics looks almost identical to Melee's. It seems like all they did was saturate the colors. Maybe that's "next gen" for the Wii?

Maybe it's because I don't own a Wii. Hmmm, that could be it.

@Capn Birdseye: Dude, it's a fighting game. How much do you expect it to change from iteration to iteration? I for one am GLAD the core gameplay hasn't changed much. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The fun of this game is playing as new Nintendo characters, fighting online, the Subspace Emissary... And just enjoying the references to old/obscure Nintendo titles. This is really just a big fanservice game for Nintendo fans.

@ Mistermingo

yeah dude, I understand that this genre of game isn't going to change much, and well it shouldn't, but hey, I am excited by SC4, but nowhere near as hard as people are going on about the new SSB.

I love old school nintendo games, but I can't help but feel that it is less the game and more the fact that it is a new nintendo game that is garnering all this attention.

Its all good, any excitement for games is just more good news for gaming, I was just curious if I was missing something ;)
