New True Crime announced, no sign of zombies, dragons photo

The game which everyone was teased and thought to be a titled called Red Lotus turns out to be... a new True Crime game. Yes, as in True Crime: Streets of NY and True Crime: Streets of LA. A new one.

Developed by United Front games and published by Activision, the game looks to put the lead character in Hong Kong as an undercover cop. As part of the Triads he must "think like the Triads." Also, there are strippers in this game, and guns.

If anyone remembers the original game, it took an interesting... twist. We have to wonder if this new title wil follow suit, or if they'll keep it a bit more down-to-earth.

I remember loving True Crime: LA because I would drive actual streets I knew(the scale was 80%+ accurate) and I would awe and marvel over driving my real life home city, street for street in-game. Other than that? The series is total garbage! Fool me once...

LOL

The only thing I distinctly remember about this game is turning your car around at full speed and shooting out your window in slow-mo while driving in reverse.

I loved the first game, it had great cinematics, great combat, bullet time, very varied missions in comparison to GTA (scaling a terrorist infested building, arresting rapists) and the story changed depending on if you failed the mission or not. I loved it. It's way better than GTA3 and a bit worse than vice city.

Original was fun with over the top moments, great idea for story progression (where failing a mission didn't stop the story), while the second one was more conservative and less interesting, but with slightly better gameplay
i wonder what will it be now

Don't get me started on the bit where you went all 'John Woo' on a friggin' dragon. I should have mentioned that in my monthly musing. I can't even remember why you fight that dragon either...probably because Nick was a completely charmless, womanising, scumbag or something.

Nick was FTW though.

Though, Tokyo would still be both a comedic and action packed romp (yeah, they need Nick for that game that sadly seems to never be -_-)

The first one was a blast to play.

Hehe, I said just the other day "at least it's not True Crime". To tell the truth, I liked the first one a bit, but it was very buggy and the driving wasn't very good.

I'm going to assume you're being sarcastic because Streets of LA was probably one of the worst games of the last generation. Hilarious in it's badness, but still very, very bad.

The first game was a guilty pleasure, but it honestly was a really bad game. The second was even worse. Nothing makes me think this 3rd game will be a charm.

I could be mistaken, but the unfortunate Npc's in the middle of the fireball have the exact death animation, they strike the same 'pose'. unless this game is half way finished, that's not a good sign.

I was just thinking today how terrible this series was and how fortunate we are that it was dead. Aw, well.

I actually really loved the first game. The shooting and driving mechanics really made it hard to play GTA games afterwards. I'll be keeping my eye on this.
