New Tron XBLA footage

8:44 PM on 06.19.2007

See, this is what I was afraid of. When I heard rumblings of a forthcoming Tron send-up on XBLA, I got all excited, because I had hopes for something similar to Armagetron -- but no! It's just another "enhanced" arcade port. Swell for some, disappointing for others.

It's not as though there's not enough wiggle-room to make a really compelling Tron game on XBLA -- Microsoft's upped the size restriction, after all. Maybe after Tron sells its 200 or 300 copies on XBLA they can get started on the real deal: an 8-player online light cycle deathmatch. Oh, how my heart would soar!
