So GameTrailers TV made its 2009 debut on Spike TV last night, with exclusive for a few games, as you'd expect. Among them the was the above trailer for Activision's X-Men Origins: Wolverine game, set to coincide with the May release of the film.
Unfortunately, the entire trailer is cinematics from the game -- Hugh Jackman's Wolverine soaks in a tank, and gets into an altercation and messes s**t up. It looks great, it's well-paced, and my soft-spot for the Wolverine character has me jazzed... about the movie.
Personally, I find it hard to get excited about a game whose trailer refuses to show me, well, the game. This teaser for X-Men Origins: Wolverine does just that, giving barely more information than the title of the game suggests. In fact, I'm just upset about the whole thing now, and I need a time out.
Activision will be at New York Comic Con this week, and so we will. I know for a fact that they will be bringin X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but in what capacity we'll have access is unknown. If Activision's press access history suggests anything, it's likely we'll just be watching someone play a demo of the game. Which, now that I think about it, is slightly more interesting than a CG trailer.
I don't know if it's a good sign or not, but Gamestop's listing the game with a Mature rating. Could be interesting after coupling that with EGM's write-up.
I can imagine it being pretty terrible, but I'd probably give it a go. As it's being released on PC too, I can imagine coming across some really terrible controls.
But I agree, this just makes me want to see the film more. I quite enjoyed the trailer for it.
More content would be nice, but they showed off some shiny graphics that prove Hugh Jackman IS Wolverine. I'd like to see some in-game content, especially if it's scripted for May - but deadlines are for (another industry) anyway.

I get almost no satisfaction out of watching a cinematic for an unreleased game.
Seeing actual gameplay in a demo, however, is probably the best way to comprehensively judge the game - short of playing the demo myself.
But goddammit! show some gameplay!

Iron Man looked cool too and look what happened to that though.
