The guys over at Spiral Game Studios sure know how to get me excited for something. First off, this trailer for Orion: Dino Beatdown has that obnoxious, over-the-top announcer who calls the Tyrannosaurus rex "Sally." Then they decide to show off the jetpacks and mechs all thrown inside huge open-world levels and that was all I needed. But when I saw you could get abducted by flying dinosaurs, I just lost it.
Another small detail mentioned in the trailer was for the continued support of free DLC. The first announced pack includes the Triceratops, Argentinosaurus, and Stegosaurus dinosaurs. They're all herbivores so they shouldn't terrorize us in the game, right? Even if they do, I still want this. I want it badly. Good thing it'll be out this month on Steam and OnLive for only $9.99.
what did i just see, if there weren't so damn many games coming out this month, i'd be tempted to drop a tenner on this. If enough people on Steamtoid get it, i'm sure i can be peer pressured
One of the big publishers should finally create a dinosaur franchise that isn't all rediculous. Dinosaurs are animals, not monsters.
Spielberg had done it right, making you feel respect for them as a force of nature.
kind of distasteful, has that red neck hunter feel to it.
the "enemy" dinosaurs are like wild animals and the humans are the savages. in the real world none leathal methods and defence would be used way, way befor humane culling was required.
Not good taste, and for the people who think this looks good should think about what that says about their own empathy to animals.
What about empathy to humans? Just look at any FPS, except for some extremely rare instances. Is it right to kill every guy in these games? Should you headshot everybody stunned with a flash bang, execute wounded etc.
It is quite obvious for anyone who thinks for a second that this is done on purpose. You take badass, cool part of combat and put a spotlight on it, while disregard gritty consequences and drama. It's a game.
What makes dinosaurs so special is that they are animals, if you want them to behave like random monsters, you should probably replace them by random monsters. It is just a lazy game concept that's all.
@Occams YES!!! Why hasn't anyone picked-up the licensce for Dino-Riders? I wanna ride a T-Rex that shots lazers!! Heck, just reskin that new Hawken game and I'll probably be happy.
Dinosaurs don't seem like much of a threat to a hi-tech army. They have armored mech walkers. That's like a dinosaur made of metal with heavy weapons attached!
Being "abducted" by a pterodactyl is hilarious though. Does it just drop you, or does it take you back to it's nest to feed it's tiny stompable young like a fool?
All classes should have jetpacks, add Baryonyx. Other than that this is the clear game of the year well done, shut down all other development houses till 2013. *slow clap*

I was skeptical of The Last of Us. Despite all the hype and high promises, to me, it looked like post-apocalyptic Uncharted. I wasn't sold on the dynamic nature of how the game progressed, and as we all know, zombies have been literally done to death in the past five years.
Then, I got a chance to actually play it. How many days until June 14th again?

Finally! Nintendo announced today that PlatinumGames title Wonderful 101 will be coming to the Wii U on September 15th. The game came under some fire recently for being touted as a "short" experience, but I personally can't wait, as PlatinumGames rarely misses.

Jordan and I have started a new game in our Couch Campaign, and it's one that I have been excited to play since we first began talking about the project. As a huge fan of the Fallout franchise and a lover of top-down, exploration shoot-em-up games, the pairing of the two could have been glorious. And Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel is, provided you think train wrecks can be glorious.
