Blood squirting decapitations, pounding techno music, over the top sword battles! And this game will be up on my shelf right next to Elebits. WTF, indeed.
I am one of the few people in this world that actually bought, let alone loved, Killer 7 on the GameCube. I thought it was a very stylized, sleek piece of pop video game art. When I heard the creator of that hidden gem, Suda 51, was making a spiritual sequel on the Wii I was more than excited.
This new trailer for No More Heroes is confusing, to say the least. But what it lacks in clarity it makes up for in style. The game sports some pretty cool graphics and, if the quick snippets can be believed, some really innovative uses of the Wiimote (was that a slot machine I saw pop up after that guy got his head chopped off?).
Hopefully the frame rate will improve before the game is eventually released, but, in the meantime, color me very intrigued.

as violent and over the top as this game may be, i dont know if i can get over the terrrible dialog. there was some video i watch on ign, and to say the least, i was cringing.
Manhunt's violence, to me, is more sadistic and realistic (besides shooting guns and such we commonly see in games and movies) which is why I'm more reluctant to buy such games. NMH on the other hand looks more over the top due to having a laser sword that cuts people in half from top to bottom, not that I'm any more interested in it. The graphics in some scenes right now look unrefined as if the contrast was turned up a little too much. I appreciate developers making more mature games for the Wii but I'm more interested in mature games that're in the scope of RE, SH, MGS, FF, Lost Planet, Assassin's Creed, Gears of War, Dead Rising, Bullet Witch, and so on and so forth. So hopefully the makers of such games will take their shot on the Wii and not overshoot vying for the "most gruesome" cup. I want "mature" games but not necessarily hitting the borders of porn land or violence's equivalent.
SH? Oh, Silent Hill?
I loved Killer 7. The over the top violence was part of that stylistic element, as well as possibly to make the story have a little more impact. At least, I think there was a story that was supposed to have an impact...
Anyways, looks sweet, I'd buy it.
The contrast is this movie try an other on gametrailers. Knowing that this game comes from the same makers as Killer7 is enough for me to know that I'll buy it.
That looks pretty badass. i dont see how its more violent than Manhunt though. i mean, Manhunt was a frikken murder simulator you just cant get more violent than that. Theres plenty of games where you cut people in half and blood squirts out.
I LOL'd mightily at the part where he says "Moeeee" too bad he won't say that in the NA version.
Sad to say that I never had the chance the play Killer 7 (although now i'll be on the hunt for it). However I am COMPLETELY stoked about this game here. In my opinion you cannot have enough violence in a video game, I say bring it on.
That game looks awesome. The combat system looks really refined, and if the storyline even comes close to the weirdness that was Killer 7, then I'd be very happy.

Nintendo is maturing gusy! It starts with Perfect Dark and it ends with Killer Instinct 3!
I (along with a surprising number of other Dtoiders) am with you on Killer 7. I own it, and I'm totally glad I do. This game looks pretty sweet, if for no other reason than it looks like it'll be just as crazy as Killer 7.
The prospect of Suda 51 doing a Wii game is enough to get me excited- even without seeing footage. And apparently (according to IGN) Grasshopper is working on 3 Wii games at the moment, so I'm pumped.
Also, keep this rumour in mind; In an interview Suda was asked about 'Project S' which is a collaboration between him and Kojima. This is an upcoming Wii game (exciting!) that is was guessed to be a new 'Snatcher' game. Suda wouldn't comment.
Oh yeah, they're also coming out with some of their earlier work on DS. Some really dark, mature text based adventure games I gather. They're coming out in North America sometime.
If this game is as good as Killer 7 was, I'm definitely not playing it. I must live on some alternate universe where that trailer didn't look - what's the word I'm looking for? - oh yeah: good.

I loved Killer 7, this is gonna be decent at the very least.

Oh wait, you meant the game. Yeah, that looks rad.
