I hated Underworld at first (the level witht he bike int he jungle especially, I just quit playing right there and traded the game in), but giving it a second go it turned out pretty darn awesome, easily the best game of its type (yes, including both Uncharteds).
The new game is looking great. I for one don't see the need for a reboot as much as other people seem to, I was happy enough with the series as it was, but I'm excited for this regardless. If it lives up to even half of its promise, I'll be happy.

Underworld was definitely awesome. The poor versus-humans combat dragged it down a bit, but that was such a small portion of the game that it hardly mattered. The puzzles and level design were top class, and I for one loved that it threw you right in with a level designed to weed out casual players who weren't ready for heavy exploration and puzzle-solving.
I'm looking forward to the reboot, but it's sad that a game as great as Underworld won't get a direct follow up.

I can dig this, hard. I love how they took a traditionally plastic, barbie-like character and gave her a more rugged appearance. It almost makes me thing she's a real person, and not just a body created to hang giant tits on.

Yeah, in fact I think these were on Dtoid once before.
Nonetheless, after Portal 2 is released, this he easily takes top place on my Want List.

These screens kind of remind me of that movie The Descent. If you like claustrophobic horror movies featuring attractive women getting dirty and banged up its definitely worth checking out.

While I'm not getting my hopes too high, I'm still much more interested in this than I have been for any other Tomb Raider game.
The problem is after the reboot they'll adopt a sequel-a-year deadline model and the quality will drastically drop. They've made a TON of money with this model and fans get fooled every time.
I can't help but get my hopes up every time there's news about a new Tomb Raider game. The original Tomb Raider was one of the first games I got into and it holds found memories. That said... there hasn't been a Tomb Raider game since that I've committed to finishing. It looks pretty though.
This game's looking good so far, but they really need to add some variety to these screenshots. They're almost indistinguishable from one another.

i think this looks really interesting. has anyone broached the topic of how this looks decidedly more "uncharted"-ish?
hear me out: uncharted as a series definitely took a lot of cues from the original tomb raider games' sense of scale and adventure, and then expanded upon them and made them fit a more contemporary game dev style. now we have a new tomb raider reboot that is (at least from the limited screens and info we have) seems to in turn take a lot of cues right back from naughty dog's baby. i think in the end when drake and lara get together the babies are always beautiful.
... oh my god. i just had a total brad pitt as drake and angelina reprising as lara in a "mr and mrs smith"-esque crossover movie event. ok maybe not EVERY baby coming from those two would be beautiful...
