After a few weeks of teasing, Crystal Dynamic's new Tomb Raider title has been revealed. Simply called Tomb Raider (that's how we do series reboots these days), the details of the game will be revealed in the next issue of Game Informer.
As rumored, the title will follow a young Lara Croft who finds herself washed up on a mysterious island when a storm destroys a boat she was traveling on. As the only survivor, Lara is put to the test as she fights for survival.
"Forget everything you knew about Tomb Raider," said Crystal Dyanmics studio head Darrell Gallagher, "This is an origins story that creates Lara Croft and takes her on a character defining journey like no other."
Judging from Game Informer's cover, Lara is definitely getting a bit of a make over from the neck up. We'll learn and see more this month, as the latest issue of Game Informer is headed to subscribers now. Stay tuned.
