New Tomb Raider film to feature younger, realistic Lara photo

Word of a new Tomb Raider film – “a reboot, if you will” – has been floating around for awhile. In an interview with About.com at the Terminator: Salvation premiere, producer Dan Lin confirms the film is currently in the works.

“We’re rebooting Lara Croft,” he says. “It’s a great origin story that we’re gonna tell.”

He goes on to affirm that the film will still have action, but will focus on character, and will be “more realistic” than previous films.

Lin’s only comment on casting is that nothing has been decided, but a since the film is an origin story, they’re looking to pick up a younger Lara Croft. Because Angeline Jolie is positively ancient; have you seen her lately? Even Brad is like, totally done with her. Rumors have put Megan Fox in the role of Lara Croft for the new film, which was immediately praised by our own Hamza Aziz as the “greatest idea to come out of Hollywood since Citizen Kane.”

"For me, the Lara Croft games and movies have gone a little too action oriented," Lin adds. "I wanted to have action, but with character."

While we’re on the subject of Tomb Raider, what’s the deal with everyone calling the movies and the game “Lara Croft”? I mean, the name of the series is “Tomb Raider,” right? Lara Croft is the character. This isn’t brain surgery.

Please let Lara Croft be a loli in the next movie. Please please please. I would pay an amount of money to see loli Lara Croft. I am hard just thinking about it.

What? Megan Fox doesn't have the boobs. And everyone knows that was a major part of the games. MAJORLY MAJOR!

Ah yes, that's exactly what a "story" about a female globe trotting tomb raider needs, realism. Because I know at least four girls that do that in real life. Especially the dinosaur fighting.

Megan Fox as Lara Croft would be the worst thing to ever happen. Ever.

So... her childhood. Wait, she's a bombshell badass militant archaeologist who goes around the world stealing exotic artifacts by raiding ancient tombs, killing zombies, dinosaurs and generally doing awesome stuff, and this chump would rather do soul searching? *Falcon Facepalm*

But no, no that's alright. While you're at it, tell those guys who are making the Gears movie to concentrate on Marcus Fenix's grade school years. See how that noise does ya Box Office Sales.

You can't have action coincide with character, Hollywood movies don't work like that. You either have one or the other, but not both.

Also, Diverse's comment placed dirty images in my head. Like, very dirty.

Megan Fox is increadibly attractive of course but Lara Croft's character appeal is TITS, which Fox doesn't have. Croft is no "female empowerment figure" and she's no deep interesting character, so like, stop tryna take her TITS away already guys, that's the only reason we liked her in the first place.

They need to put Lara Croft in a whole. TR is so 90's and all the films are bad Indy like rip offs. Why waste money on rebooting this shit?

Spend the money on a Kane and Lynch movie, at least that has some substance and decent characters.

More realistic? The games weren't even realistic to begin with. I mean who knew there were endangered species, dinosaurs, and aliens living inside an underground cavern? Also why would they want to have a younger Lara Croft? Are Lara Croft's breasts too big that they hamper her ability to climp cliffs and fight other fellow tomb raiders?

They should get Mickie James to play Lara Croft. She's the WWE wrestler who dressed as Lara Croft in the WWE's Halloween costume contest last year.
