Not to nitpick but the original TTT had combo throws as well. So far I haven't seen/heard of any "new" features.

It is indeed a shameless copy of Lisa/La Mariposa from DOA, but that is nothing new for Tekken (they already copied DOA's Eliot too). "JC" is Julia from the past Tekkens, since Michelle will be in TTT2 and she and Julia fight the same way, makes sense to change one of them up.
You can't 'steal' fighting game characters. All characters in fighting games are derivative of either specific martial artists (Bruce Lee variation in every fistacuffs fighting game) or a 'unique' spin on an archetype (samurai).
Er, since Tekken has had Lucha libre fighters from the very first game, saying they stole anything is kind of weird. At this stage, there aren't exactly a bunch of untouched fighting styles out there.
