We're all very excited for Tales of Monkey Island, the episodic return of one of LucasArts' most cherished and venerable point-and-click adventure games. Here's a brand new trailer, unleashed upon Youtube by TellTale Games, where the mighty pirate Guybrush Threepwood rescures Elaine from the evil pirate LeChuck. Or at least tries to.
It's looking really good so far, and should be an awesome followup to the series that many thought they'd never see again. So long as the comedy is all in place, I don't think we'll have any problems. Hit the jump for the video.

This looks Bad-Ass. The first trailer excited me cause, hey, new Monkey Island, but didn't really make me laugh. If the whole game is as funny as what they show here, though, then they've totally sold me.
I read the Q&A, Surplus! It was very informative. I'm getting increasingly interested in this game. I'll probably wait for the Dtoid review, but it's looking more and more like I'll have to buy it.
looks crap, voices and comedy will win me over as they are awesome but just cant get over how rubbish MI looks in 3d :/ looks like Grim fandango did a millenia ago :/
People have very poor memories as far as graphics go. I think this looks just fine for what it's doing. They were never going to make an episodic 2D Monkey Island game (do you really need me to tell you why that has complications?) and I think they've done a fine job with the style they've gone for.
I think it'll look even better when we see it in the context of Guybrush in a town with lots of scenery, which we still haven't seen since the early pre-polished shots of E3.
The ONLY thing that turned me off (and only slightly) was the mouth synching. Certainly not a dealbreaker though.
And Guybrush is PERFECTLY bumbling. I'd say "I'm Sold!" but I already pre-purchased the game a month ago so nothing has changed other than my excitement level.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
And-a thank YOU for the link to my Q&A, which was tragically owned by the Michael Jackson news.
