New talent agency for freelance game industry professionals photo

ITM Creatives is the artistic branch International Talent Management, and they work to connect freelance professionals with the video game, film, and television industries and their new Web site launched today.

The site enables producers to search for and recruit talent for their projects, avoiding what the agency's head, Max Meltzer, calls "unreasonable deals".  He feels that artists and animators are within one of the most abused categories of the entertainment industry.

"This is a talent agency, not a recruitment agency, and we're one of the first to primarily operate in the video games industry. The Web site is the base where ethical practices between games studios and talent come together."

They charge a "low and appropriate" fee to the freelancers and charge no comission to the hiring company.

ITM's clients have worked on videogames such as Heavenly Sword and the Command & Conquer series, as well as feature films such as King Kong, Spider-Man 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean. Television credits include the likes of Rome and Band of Brothers.

If their clients have worked on "Heavenly Sword...Command & Conquer" and all those feature fils, wouldn't you think they could find their own damn work?

Don't forget to add "willing to work 16 hour days for months on end". God, I still remember that blog from that guy who worked at EA...

video game developers are new hot tabloid topics! i can see it now. drunken coked out developers chasing ex employees down the street in a semi-stolen suv. game developers shaving their heads and running around acting crazy while not caring for their children. one video game developer caught in a hot tub making steam of their own.

i think i might have just created a new job. [:

[i would link to hollywood news and game developer news to make the above jokes seem more mocking, but that much bbcode would hurt my fingers. i'm not a coder you know]

*one video game developer caught in a hot tub with another making steam of their own.* [one day the feeling of urgency will disappear and i'll be better at proof reading.]

You know in Hollywood, if the talent agency is charging you a fee before you get hired you are getting scammed.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
