What's a big announcement about a Street Fighter game without some kind of trailer to back it up?! Well, here it is, the latest montage of street fighters fighting in the streets. This trailer focuses on all the new additions appearing in Super Street Fighter IV and just as always, Juri makes me all hot and bothered.

Like Sterling, I too wish I at least a little good at fighting games. I always want to play them, but it's no fun getting obliterated.

Super Street Fighter IV will be out in the US on April 27 and will include this awesome cover art.

Super Street Fighter 4: Now with 300% more black lines per pixel than previous versions of Street Fighter.

PS: Why does T-Hawk sound like a pussy? I mean, the actor's voice is fine, but compared to the hugeness of the character, the voice needs to be 1 octave lower and 50% more distorted. Get on that Capcom.

come on guys, everybody gets owned at every level. you just need to put some serious time and practice in it.

I sucked at fighting games too; I just picked one character and stuck with it, observed how friends kicked my ass, and eventually got sort of decent.

you wanna learn the game, then get to reading forum posts and watching videos. thats where you start. then just plaaaaaaaaay as much as you possibly can. you gotta learn the mental game of it. its almost entirely mind games. yea you need some good execution and sometimes some extreme reaction speed, but mostly its about knowing what they're gonna do before they even do it. pick a simple character (thats why ryu is so popular) and learn matchups. thats all there is to it.

oh and play people offline.

Everyone started out crummy just as you at one point, just play play play. You'll eventually get enough practice in to get decent.

In total agreement with the other comments here. If you have an interest then you can get better so quickly you'd amaze yourself. Find your character, learn how best to use them, and just keep playing.

I love fighting games because I love the fight, and yet I hate them because I donīt want to be locked to one character forever, in games like KOF 2002 UM, if you want to play with everybody a bit you will probably transform the game in the half of your life.
Again, with all this very good adds (Dee Jay and T. Hawk should be in the first SFIV, so I donīt see them as a big add, but all the rest is fantastic), why R. Mika and Elena did not make again?
And really, why Capcom just donīt give any clue about the PC version? Hey I hate the game in the Xbox(it is really hard to play as Vega or Guile when you want to use the ultras) But since Iīve build an arcade stick using a PS2 controller an an USB adapter, the PC become my real SFIV paradise.
I really hope capcom did not forget us PC owners(I do have Resident Evil 5 and SFIV legally for the PC)

I totally understand wishing you were good at fighting games. I bought SF4 when it was on sale for $20 and played until my thumbs bled. The only thing I had to show for it was a 0-30 record against online opponents. Funny thing is, I was able to beat the game pretty easily in Single Player mode.

At least I made my money back when I eBayed the game.

Wasn't there supposed to be two more fighter left for them to show off or are there no more? Maybe hidden? Well, I guess we'll see.

that's the whole point, playing an AI and playing a living, thinking opponent are two completely different things. The AI is susceptible to basic mindless tactics (such as spamming cr.lp or Zangief's Lariat) and at the same time can pull off virtually any combo. It's a whole different ballgame when reactions and psychology come into play. A lot of beginners seem to focus on executing moves, when what really counts is learning basic strategy, pivotal concepts like wakeup and zoning, what works vs. what else, etc.

It can be a daunting learning curve for people who didn't grow up playing these games, but it's totally worth it. And hey, not everything is as easy as just aiming a crosshair and pulling a trigger. ZING!

There are four more characters to be announced (a character select screen was released awhile ago with four blacked-out spots). it is heavily likely - according to a leak that has proven 100% reliable so far - that the remaining characters are Ibuki, Makoto and Dudley from SFIII, plus newcomer Hakan.

RE: all the "Just play it more to get better" comments-
My problem is that in this and many other fighting games, there's a very low ceiling on how good you can possibly get without mastering a lot of combos, and achieving that level of input speed and precision is just so incredibly tedious. No more than ten minutes into trying to do some four move combo and failing for the 100th time in the 4th stage of SFIVs challenge mode, I suddenly realize that what I'm doing is Not Fun. It's all the worse because I believe these things are intentionally difficult just to cater to the obsessive fans and give them a giant hammer to bludgeon new players with.

I feel semi-sort of the same way. There's a lot to be said for ease of play, and the link timing is super-stringent in SF4, which causes a lot of people to pick it up, and then put it right back down, never to return. It's a window that honestly should be widened in order to allow more non-hardcores a fighting chance (pardon the unintentional pun). This very principle is why I consider Project Justice the most fun fighting game Capcom has ever produced.

Okay. We all know that Dee Jay, T. Hawk, Guy, Cody, Adon and Juri are in the game. We've been beaten over the head repeatedly with this information.

Where's the new characters, goddammit?

I really didn't like the way that SF4 handled in terms of timing and feel, but for some reason, I get excited seeing Cody and Juri in these trailers. Anyway, I'd rather play other games now b/c I don't really like playing against other people.

In a previous video, didn't T. Hawk do a little raised-palm hand gesture after sitting on people during his ultra? Was this taken out for being offensive to Native Americans, or am I insane and imagining this whole thing?

Challenge mode combos are meant to be difficult, and not all of them are even useful. The best thing to do is play real people (singleplayer just builds bad habits in you that make the online curve a little more difficult) and try a lot of characters until you find yours. I used Ryu for the longest time in Super Turbo before finding out that I'm definitely a way better Dee Jay player, and that just opened up a whole new level of competing for me. Also, websites and forums are really useful, I use Event Hubs for most of my SF needs, but everything is useful.

A big "LOL" at challenge mode combos being important in actually being good at the game. SFIV is all about spacing and timing, if you wanna complain about combos then go play Tekken 6.

I have no problems with ads in general but it's a bit annoying when they take up the entire window, can't be clicked away and last for the entire video (currently League of Legends). :( Bet it was a great trailer, sounded awesome.

Yup, Challenge Mode isn't really there to teach you useful combo's at all, just to test you. Fighting competitively and spending time in practice mode are far more valuable. I'm a Gen user, and half of the stuff Challenge Mode tried to get me doing with him is so incredibly impracticable that it may as well be useless. I'm seconding the whole 'mind games and reactions' thing here wholeheartedly.
