Super Mario Galaxy 2 is out on May 23 here in America and a new trailer has arrived showing off some of the game's new features. Of note is Mario's new drill power-up which lets him pierce the heavens ... and planets hiding goodies inside their core. We also see Yoshi and how the dinosaur-dragon-frog-monster helps Mario on his new quest.
The music in the new trailer is also really good. Dale North can't stop gushing about how good the song is here in the office. Seriously, shut up already Dale.
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. After seeing this, I really don't give a damn about that anymore. As long as it's the fun and challenging Mario platforming that we all know and love, SMG2 can use whatever art style and gimmicks it wants. Cannot fucking wait for this game.

Correction: Its so pretty period. Super Mario Galaxy was one of the best looking games on any current-gen console. Super Mario Galaxy 2 looks to be just as good.

There is nothing special about this music. Nothing new, just go back a couple years ago and find what you just did in SMG2. The music sounds like Fire Emblem's.
And its just a mario game. You will defeat bowser at the end. Omg no wai
This could be one iota better than SMG1 and it would already be a must-buy for me.
