Grab New Super Mario Bros. Wii on Nov 15 photo

Nintendo announced that New Super Mario Bros. Wii has been dated for November 15 in America, three weeks before another heavy Nintendo hits: Zelda: Spirit Tracks on the DS.

If you're not familiar with this game check out Chad's hands-on preview from E3 -- he loved it so much that he gave it a 9.5 score. (We don't do preview scores, and that's not a review score.  It's a special Chad's happy-magical-fun-time-rainbow score.)

Unfortunately that's all they have revealed about the game. We did get some new screenshots and a high-res render of Mario riding Yoshi that you can check out in the gallery below. Now that this is in the pipe, we expect news on Super Mario Brothers Galaxy 2 to also rear its head sometime soon.

Good to know. Can't wait.

I like the Angry Video Game Nerd's name for this game:

"Asshole Mario"

Because it really is. LOL.

Wow. Fanboys and bots. At least, I think that's a bot.

Anyway, I'm excited for Mario. I just hope to God it's longer and much more of a challenge than the DS game.

I don't know how to feel about Mario games anymore. It's depressing.

I LOVED THIS GAME

I hope they optimized it. It was chugging at E3 and even Miyamoto commented that it was pushing the hardware to the limits. It's a really fun party game, I hope people give it a fair shot.

I hope that they eliminate that pause that occurs when you power up. I can see it becoming incredibly annoying in multiplayer to have pauses interrupting gameplay continuity every few seconds.

This is going to be a blast. 'Nuff said. Less than three Nintendo.

Agreed. That pause looks so insanely annoying that it is nearly on par with tripping in Brawl. Please take it out, Nintendo!

(Ugh. I doubt it. The game is likely done by now and off to be manufactured.)

Another awesome game for me to pick up when the deluge of 360 games this winter and spring have passed and I pick up my shiny new Wii and PS3.

It'd be nice if they'd delay it a little bit and add online play, but knowing Nintendo they'll probably just delay it anyway and still not add online play.

@ pedrovay2003

I enjoyed SPM, but there was too much story and not enough classic gameplay, in my humble opinion. Not to mention the part where you have to run on that hamster wheel for 20 minutes, unless you look online for the password to that damned door. How is that even fun? Holding down a button while I watch TV isn't fun, Nintendo.

I'm with pedrovay2003. I hope this game is way bigger!

I was hoping that the 2nd Toad was just a filler character because they either hadn't decided who the 4th playable character would be, or they just weren't ready to announce it yet. But now it's starting to look like the final version of the game is going to have Toad for both 3rd and 4th players to use. That's completely stupid. With all of the possible characters they could have chosen from the Mario universe, why would they use Toad twice?

Also, their whole explanation for this not having online is that there are too many things going on at one time, and it'd be too much for Wii to handle. Really? Then how come Smash Bros. and Mario Kart are able to have online?

woot! Mario and Zelda games always hit within a few days of my birthday, but this one finally hit the mark. For once I have off on my birthday and I'll get to enjoy a new Mario game. excellent. gf and I may hop on the train to NYC if Nintendo has a launch party for this like they often do.

I agree 2 toads is terrible though. How about the SMB2US lineup? If Peach is unavailable due to the storyline, they could have used any of about 1000 other characters.

This game was a blast to play at E3! My friend and I must have played it for at least an hour a day at the event, if not more. The Nintendo people may have even been slightly annoyed.
Now, let's hope they fix that PAUSE deal while you snatch a power-up... An option to turn it off would be swell. But we all know Nintendo... They hate giving players options in their games. Why? I do not know.
Anyway, Nov. 15 better hurry the hell up! So excited! =)

Yeah, I remember that part of the game with the wheel... However, there was a spot where you could find the code by flipping to 3D. I can't remember where it was, though, but I found it eventually.

I agree, too much story was present, but it was a part of the RPG series. Going into it knowing that helped, I guess.
