Thanks to a heads up by the folks at Capcom, you have been saved from my amatuerish screenshots and Cloverfield-ish video of Street Fighter IV from GDC 08. Besides, I don't think I was allowed to shoot and film there anyway. Oops. You've been saved by these professionally made screenshots and a new English language AOU trailer.

These screens are the prettiest we've seen yet, and I really dig the new trailer. But, I'm with everyone else in saying that these images don't compare to see SFIV in motion. The first thing that hit me during gameplay is that these characters are more agile and less bulky than they appear in pictures. Of course, I had to witness most of this with my eyes and not my hands; I only got to play four rounds, and I was quickly shut out of the journalist's tournament. Damn you, Jared Rea from GameTap!

Any self respecting fighting game fan should get some kind of pants tingle from the above 3-minute trailer. Just seeing it makes me want to play it again. My only complaint is that I'd like to see more stages.

Yes, C. Viper is as badass as she looks. Zangief's victory pose and facial close up are hilarious. Abel looks...able. Chun Li, let me get at you, girl. And yes, Blanka's eyes still bug out when he gets beat down. Capcom, please hurry up with my personal arcade cabinet!

First, I'd like to say I still absolutely hate the art direction--not the pseudo-3D, but the over-the-top goofiness of the characters. This has gotta be the worst art direction of the main Street Fighter games (I miss Shinkiro).

All that said, depending on what the final roster is (lots of hope for Sagat, Sakura, Makoto, Elena, and several other veterans making the cut), it could be great. I wanna know what console(s) they're releasing it on, too. Yoshinori Ono said it could potentially be done on Wii--I'm not holding my breath or anything, but if the right circumstances came to be (roster, any online, etc) I'd run out and grab a Hori stick for it.

I can't wait to see more new characters. Anyone think any 3rd strike people will show up?

That actually looks way better in motion than I anticipated. Good for Capcom.

"i just the trailer on g4 and to me its the same game they released 14 years ago with better graphics. same moves, same movement, different look."

. . . additional characters, some additional moves, a couple new game mechanics, ZOMG different looks . . . yep. your opinion . . . sucks . . .

In my world, Soul Calibur and Street Fighter exit in two cabinets, very close together, under dramatic lighting in my ultimate game center.

Im really diggin the new look. I dont know why there are so many haters. I love LOVE old school 2D dont get me wrong, but whats wrong with trying something new?

If we get the same rehashed garbage that Capcom used to give us (Tell me how many times they used that same Morrigan sprite) then were gonna complain about that.

Im loving the new character, that red head with the tig old bitties, especially the fact that her tie or whatever is wedged between those two mammoth mammaries.

Although that Anton Shigurh haircut Ken is sporting. I could do without that shit.

my opinion may suck, no doubt, but i just feel i saw nothing new,i did like guile's special move animation.but just not enough to merit a purchase for me. i just really love soul caliber in terms of style and customization. each character has their own style but their is so many moves you or i can actually develop a distinct style then go back and find a whole new style with that same character. so when that comes out, watch for Qraze,i'm literally excellent with every character, you just have to find "your"style of moves. can't wait. #1_in_the_hood_G!!

Soul Calibur is 3d, Street Fighter is 2d. End of discussion. I can't even see how you can compare them. It's like comparing Bioshock to Counter-Strike

Oh shit, Sagat and Balrog confirmed! =D (Check Youtube.)

Great news, but I'm still pensive about the final roster. They definitely need to include a few Alpha and 3rd Strike characters. But I suppose worst comes to worst they'll rerelease SF IV a few times with new characters (this is Capcom we're talking about).

I'd like to see the option to speed up the game play, this looks a little too slow for me.

SF2hd will be great though.

KMCC: Yeah... I know there's still a long way to go so things can change, but at this point there's really no denying this game is appearing like SF II 3D Remix....

The whole shebang looks like a lot of fun... my only complaint here is I'm not seeing much new.

Even SF2 to SF3 felt like a huge leap. This just looks like SF2 in 3D. Admittedly the vids from GDC made it look like a blast to play... but show me something I haven't seen in another SF game.

Alright, that's looking a lot better in motion. Also, continuity-wise, what happened to this game's new people, seeing as they weren't in SFIII?

I officially can't wait for this. I doubt it's going to be revolutionary, but I think it's going to be a hell of a lot of fun, especially online.

Wow, that just cleared most of my doubts about the art style.

Moving onto the gameplay, I really dont like the idea of a "revenge" meter system...but I won't judge. I'll just have to play it before I make any judgements

Seeing these last few posts with things in motion turns the once raised eyebrow into a wide smile. This looks 100% Street Fighter to me. It's still got some tome to go, too, so I bet the polish will only get better.

I really need to play this game before I pass judgment. It looks better in motion than still, but I have to know how it "feels."
