Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Japan continues to get some major Street Fighter IV loving as evidence by the new Street Fighter IV Arcade testing. This latest build of the game has El Fuerte as a playable character and is said to have Vega and M.Bison as playable fighters as well. Can't confirm Vega and M. Bison returning for sure until we see some pictures or video, but we do have this video of El Fuerte battling it out with Zangief after the jump.

This latest testing of the game has also revealed a new fighter as evidence by this first video above. His name is Rufus and he's fatter than E. Honda. Even though he's obese like crazy, he seems to move pretty fast still.

I wasn't really sure about El Fuerte at first, but seeing him in action has made me like the guy now. His moves look to be extremely quick, kind of like Vega. What do you all think of El Fuerte and Rufus?

outside of Crimson Viper and El...El something, everone else so far is a bleh for me.

and the fact Bison is back (if this is true.) still confuses me. Cause he should be dead.

Jesus, when did Street Fighter turn into World Heroes? I guess soon a demonic football player and a viking is next?

I'm not feeling Mr. Short Round, but I have to agree that El Fuerte looks fun to play. I think he is getting the same reaction that El Blaze in VF5 got and I think he will probably be accepted like El Blaze as well.

Man, I want some more HUGE, totally bad-ass characters added, but right now, I guess I'm content with Refus.....jeez.

Rufus = fail

El Fuerte is fine with me, as I refuse to let go of the idea that he is El Toro Fuerte, from the Jackie Chan Adventures.

hey but Jackie Chan Adventures was a good show save first 2 seasons. After that it was hell.

I think i'll latch onto El Fuerte only cause I haven't had my fix for El Blaze just yet.

I live for any 2-D fighter. ESPECIALLY anything Street Fighter.
I don't care at all for any of the new characters Except El Fuerte. He loox pretty fucking cool. Bison and Vega coming back sounds awesome too. Doesn't make much sense, but as a hardcore SF fan, YES PLEASE.

I want this. I want this for the 360/PS3 and I want official Arcade Joysticks. I also want a Mucha Lucha-based 2d fighter while we're at it. Mucha Lucha kicked so much ass.

El Fuerte and Viper are looking mighty fine and are welcomed additions in my book.
...Now Rufus and Abel... not so much.
I don't know, Rufus looks like your typical fat-demon looking-esc character, not really to my tastes.
oh well.
The game's looking sharp though.

Meh, the obligatory "fat" character has already been done. It looks they took the globular fat physics engine straight out of DOA.

El Fuerte reminds me of ... I forget his name, but he was in Saturday Night Slam Masters (also by Capcom) ... freaking fast like Fei Long, and does piledrivers like Zangief? He's gonna hurt, for sure.

El Fuerte looks cool. He might be a little too fast, though...Rufus, I hate how he is designed. It's like a head, a perfectly round big body, and legs sticking out, like a fat guy in an old cartoon. Do not like at all.

And for all the new character haters out there - I felt the same way when T.Hawk was created. They just need some time to fit in and they'll be all good.

Rufus reminds of the fat dude from the Fist of the North Star anime movie (crazy putty guts). Looks like a pretty good character to me.

Either way, Rufus is a welcome edition to have characters of all shape and sizes in a fighting game. Too many japanese games feature too many andro characters, that some games just become a cosplay paradise shop window (here's looking at you Square Enix). Its okay to have some rough looking characters to shake things up.

Blah, if this takes place between 2 and 3, I want to see some "younger" versions of the SF3 cast in this game.

And Second the "Bison is dead".

But note that he can clone himself, so maybe this is his true clone, since the one in SF2 was a weaker version of his SFA one.

Third the "Bison is dead". Dictator is lame, move on plz.

It's obvious Capcom's trying to ignore anything except SF II; and the cast sucks ass. Seriously, why couldn't they have used a buffed Rainbow Mika instead of Rey Misterio? There's only like, two female fighters compared to the ten or twelve male fighters. Not to mention the character design sucks. The overly dramatic moves and animations (don't get me started on the whole revenge system BS, either) are lame, too. Really, it almost makes me think SF IV is a parody of the series, because it's so outwardly stupid.

SF III fans am very cry. =(

I do have to agree that the obligatory fatman in a figher is very overdone. It was overdone back when Earthquake was shown in Samurai Showdown. I guess there are fads like masked wrestlers, but a fatman is forever.

I'm digging on Crimson Viper and El Fuerte, but Rufus and Abel really aren't doing it for me. I suppose two out of four isn't bad. They really ought to add more than one new female character, though.

No pleasing some people, perhaps we are all just spoilt fuckers.

Capcom don't do a SF game for ages and we bitch.

Now they are doing not one but two SF games, and still some not happy. The bitching is getting tired.

Respect and power to Capcom. Don't like it, don't buy it, but I know I'll be buying. End of.

0bshaky: "To the ppl that say these characters suck... WTF you like then?"

Makoto. Ibuki. Cammy. Mika, even. The art style in general I detest in SF IV--the promo art I don't mind, but in-game they're hideous. Seriously, I dare you to say they aren't goofy (look at their expressions, as well as Chun Li's penis thumbs).

If you like what you're seeing from SF IV, then I envy you. I personally just expected Street Fighter IV; not Street Fighter 2 3D remix.

But like I earlier said: If Capcom makes a pair of revisions for SF IV like they've traditionally done, and perfected the gameplay, balance, and added character favorites to those who don't pretend SF II is the only game in the franchise, then there's a shot it could be good.
