Upcoming Wii RPG Shiren the Wanderer has got the new trailer and website treatment today. Oh, and we've got the new boxart in our gallery below. We've known about the game for a bit, but it's nice to see some new material coming out of Atlus on the game.

It's not coming 'till February, but it's worth the wait. Shiren got high marks from the Japanese gaming press, what with its dungeon crawling and feudal Japanese setting and its talking ferrets and so forth. The new official site has game info, art, and a few screens. The system page talks about how this is the first Shiren game that lets you freely switch between yourself and a couple of other companions, adding some new strategy to your crawl.

The new trailer is pretty epic. It looks like a big game with a big story, which is my kind of thing.

Shiren the Wanderer hits Wii on February 9th, 2010. Lookin' forward to this one. How 'bout you?

I'm an Atlus fanboy so I'll buy this, not play it for a few weeks, and when I finally do, I'll (probably) regret not playing it right away like I should have.

Even if they lowered the difficulty, this is still the wrong system to market a roguelike to. Update and port at a later date, Atlus, please.

I wasn't interested before, but now I am. ATLUS rarely fails to impress me, so I'll be keeping my eyes on this one in the future.

Yeah, I'm still working on my Demon's Souls file. I took a break for a day about 3 weeks ago and haven't picked it up since. I want to, I really enjoyed it, it's just that for some odd reason when I do have the free time, I never play it. I just hope that once I do get back into that game, the community/hints/bloodstains are still everywhere.

Back on topic, just to add a bit more to my last post, this game looks interesting to me. And would probably give me a reason to use my Wii again (besides NSMB). From the trailer I can't tell what the combat is really like, but the game just looks like it has a charm to it that keeps me interested.

I'm playing the DS version now on harassment pandas recommendation through his c-blog. It's fucking amazing. One of the most frustrating but addictive games I've played.

Well, seems some developers have finally realized that just because it's a Wii game you don't have to leave graphics at "little beyond crap" level. If the gameplay is as good as the trailer we might finally see some great additions to the Wii library from 3rd parties.

Atlus are only the publisher in NA/PAL reigons it was published by SEGA in Japan and developed by Chunsoft.
Just thought I'd say as people seem to be interested just because of Atlus publishing it.
The traier looks great the movement seems a lot more fluid compared to the orginal.
Shame the online features have been striped out but I won't miss them as I've not played the Jap version.
