Japanese gaming deity Famitsu has posted a meager serving of the 20th Anniversary edition of Final Fantasy 2, a most of us have previously purchased at least 3 times and will purchase again as instructed by the motherships at Squenix. Oh look, a turn-based Behemoth battle again! (Sigh-chan...) However polished and in a language only the cool kids studied, there's really not much else to say at this point. That is, until we inch closer to the day all FF fans are waiting for -- May 12th's announcement of what we'll be shoving into the next available orifice.

Great plot lines and fat little heads aside, do you know what I really like about Final Fantasy games? Buying one is a guaranteed 20-120 hour happy ticket; a paytoll on productivity and responsibility that I take serious duty with. When the PS3 version hits the shelves I'm planning on bolting my doors and cutting my phone line. Miami didn't get hit by a hurricane last year so I've got high-sodium meals saved up for this!

I was comparing these to the PSX version - FFOrigins - and it was not pretty. While FFOrigins touched up FF1, they left FF2 more or less as is. Unfortunately, FF2 did not age well, and the 0rigins versions looks like mess. These PSP graphics are phenomenally better.

It's so sad that there are actually people with dozens of FF games in their collection when all you need is FF8.

well... Idk, for the first time in my life I will say this...

"This is too much FF for me to handle" ; ;

Sqenix keeps pooping more FF than the toilet can take...

is it me or does it seem like every other week we're seeing yet another Final Fantasy remake? Yet the one practically every fan wants, FF7, seems to be the only title Square's unwilling to make.

Maybe they could try actually redoing FFVI instead of shitting on it, smacking the GBA logo on it and calling it a remake...

Yeah, call me bitter.

@ realyst: that makes two of us. I've been hoping for a complete 3D remake of either IV or VI since they started in with the whole remake thing. I'm starting to think it might never happen...

No haterade here, i agree with Niero that I can get 20-120 hours of enjoyment out of a FF remake, hell Ive beaten FF6 countless times, but I bought the GBA version anyways and got a lot of entertainment out of it.

But I would LOVE to see a 3d remake of any of the old ones, the remake of 3 was quite good

I would like Sqenix to jump on the other RPG wagon for a bit, FF getting out of hand this year...

Chrono Cross sucked, could have been better like Trigger. Secret of Mana, well the first one was my favorite, wished SEiken Densetsu didnt sucked on the following sequels. they could prob make Secret of Mana 3D remake and I would play that. And im sure theres plenty of other RPG they could work on. just... dont... spam... FF... ugh...

If the announcement happens to be a remake of FFVII for next gen (I can only hope), I will buy whatever console that is no matter what.
