that bug like GIGANTIC dragon...i want to fight against it...now...it reminds me of that beast on the 3dmark2003 test
my 600 may finally start to be showing some signs of being worth it.
@hawtpawkithero
why would it blow just because its on the ps3? that makes no sense.
@zero tolo
who said no online?
I really don't think the game would look even remotely close if it were on the wii.
Hopefully this game rocks! As it looks friggen sweet!
On all the next-gen consoles, AA doesn't work with pixel shaders and some texture effects. Buffer effects (like bloom) are required to smoothen out stuff done by, for example, normal mapping.
The screenshots look pretty good, but I'm dissapointed that this game suffers yet again from the "Real is Brown" plague. Well, OK, apparently real can be green, too.

Just take the game at its face value. Afterall, as the rest of the fanboys say, "PS3 is losing exclusives left and right!"
I think this game looks like it might be a pretty good game, personally.
-Oh wait, what am I saying?
*ahem* This games suckssss!!!! It cost $600!!
And the last time I checked, despite me owning a 360 as well as my Wii, there haven't been too many titles that would've suffered in gameplay by being on the Wii as opposed to the other platforms. I think Dead Rising being a sole exception. Sure the other 360 games I have were developed for it, but there's nothing in there other than graphics that keep them on the 360 exclusively.
Kannon:Rouge Squadron II looked and played amazingly on the Cube, but it failed to keep the GCN out of 3rd place, just as this wont help the PS3 in the long run. It looks great but lacks the appeal to attract more people to the console.
thats because the cube was already dead for years before that game came out. this might be equivalent to xboxs Oblivion when it launched, key word being launched! the fanboys are just jealous ps3 might get some hardcore goodies that won't trickle down thier way, which is what is happening with every other title anyway, so try not to get to greedy kids. you can't have your cake and eat it to while making fun of the poor kid that has no parents!
Rogue Squadron 2 was a Gamecube launch title. You're thinking of Rebel Strike, which was kinda weak compared to the first one.
There is NOTHING xrayne is thinking of that would make sense. Even Rebel Strike came out in Oct 03 barely 2 years into the cubes life. How could it have been "dead for years" when it hadn't even been out that long? Also 2003 was a banner year for the cube with a price cut and games like Metroid Prime running strong from the previous holiday and the upcoming Windwaker, it was looking like cube would hit it's stride. Unfortunately that year ended up being the apex of it's strong sales numbers with steady declines pretty much every quarter after that.
Of all the comments there have been about 2 asking gameplay questions. Does it have multiplayer and is it like panzer dragoon play? Screenshots are certainly not enough to make me buy a game. Call me fickle, but I need to know how it plays.
lol, touche. :) Rebel Strike is still worth picking up on the cheap for the inclusion of the entire first Cube game in split screen co-op, even if the single player was a little meh (especially the on-foot missions).
From what I've read/heard with people who've gone hands on, they said it's one of the first games to actually control really well with the sixaxis. It's not on rails, and Factor 5 have said multiplayer is "improbable". Here's one hands-on preview and another. Have some video too!
Mxyzptlk:hell yeah, co-op was the shiznat
Checking them out now.
Also, I have Rogue Squadron II, never got III. I think maybe I'll go scrounging for a cheap copy today!
But is there any reason why every new ps3 game coming out is getting called a killer app?
The PS3 camp is desperate for a killer app, so I would say it's wishful thinking. Basically, the PS3 itself was supposed to be the killer app, remember when they said they would sell 5 million unit even if there were no games? Well, now they realize they need games so everything is being proclaimed the next killer app.
