The new Legendary Map Pack is coming out next Tuesday for Halo 3 and Bungie has shown off some new screen shots of some battles taking place in all three maps. Don't you just hate it when they show off a guy with the flaming head? Anyway, Avalanche looks to be easily my new favorite map of Halo 3. I'm just really curious as to how balanced this map will be though. I know the Hornet is now gimped, but it could still be a very over powered tool of destruction. For more of the new maps, check out the video Gameboi posted a few days ago.

Bungie will also be previewing the new Blackout map this weekend at MLG Meadowland in New Jersey. People going to this event will be among the first to get their hands on this new map before it's officially released. For times and dates of the MLG event, check out MLG's Web site.

[Thanks to Ben for the MLG tip!]

Not sure about the pelican but the hornet is gonna be on Avalanche.

Already got my points, I'm really forward to these maps.

More Halo 3 goodness. Too bad I won't be attending the MLG event at the Meadowlands this year.

I'm so excited to get to play lockout again, it was really the best Halo 2 map and none of the small maps in Halo 3 can touch it.

I really can't see the Hornet being much more than a death trap with the Spartan Laser kicking around, never mind an engine of destruction.

Really psyched to play Lockout again, though I was never a huge fan of sidewinder. I'd have rather seen Ivory Tower or Beaver Creek come back. I really enjoyed colossus too.

Anyway, there's always the off chance that Ghost Town is surprisingly good.

@Cheeburga

738,883 unique players have been on Live playing Halo 3 in the last 24 hours. So, yeah, some people still play it.

I'm really looking forward to Blackout, but I probably won't be able to play for at least a few weeks.

They should make Halo 3 maps and COD4 maps cross over, that'd be fun. haha

Bless Bungie for bringing back Avalanche. I loved that map in Halo 1, and was sad that it wasnt updated for H2 like Blood Gulch was. Time to frag the shit out of people in the snow. Woot

I haven't played Halo3 since 10/9/07. Not once.

I don't really feel bad about it, because I enjoy getting pwned by n00b tubes much better.

Wow I hate 133t-speak.

Oh my God! Cheeburga with such an original and well thought out comment. I am truly, truly shocked! I mean, when have I heard that before?

Hm, wait. On every post relating to Halo. How very trollish of you. Should I be surprised?

Seriously, I'm OK with people liking CoD 4 over Halo. I understand that these games play differently. I also understand that it's sad to go on as many COD4 stories and try to insult the people who play the game because I dislike it. That's why I don't do it. That, and because I just don't give a fuck what you like.

@ original post:

I'm still not sure about these maps. I still have to wait and see how many people get them. There should be a list somewhere. I think I might get on that. To help with FNF.
