New screens from Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia photo

Okay, I hate to admit it, but I laughed at the title of this game -- it sounds like it came straight out of the Castlevania Name Generator. Samba of Rabies? Epitaph of Cramps? Order of Ecclesia? Tell me you couldn't see that last one among all the others, and I'll reward you with a small, well-trained dog and a cheeseburger.

Thanks to a few scans posted on Jeux-France, you can spy some screens from the upcoming game, which look like...most other Castlevania games. Yeah, it's not a series big on changing the format, but since the format rocks, that's not a concern.

No major details yet on when we will see Order of Ecclesia hit the states, but I hear that Aperture of Torment is already in the making. Now the question is, is that a real game or a name I got out of the Castlevania Name Generator? You have to go look to be sure, don't you?

[Thanks, Justin]

Hmmm..female protagonist..using whip..could it be..a Belmont?

Also, by the scan, it seems that you can use the Doppelganger ability from Dawn of Sorrow again, I'm grateful to see it back, it really helped a lot.

Can't wait for this game!

I will play this. Though I don't know about a heroine with a whip. It's a bit too cliche.
Still I wonder how many times I will pay for mostly the same game over and over.

I wish they would make one of these SOTN-style games for a home console again... sigh...

Bus Ride of Suffering
Ballet of Blood
Samba of Pain

Those are some of the funniest ones I found. Castlevania is awesome but the formula is starting to get old(on the gba/ds). Beautiful HD 2D Castlevania for home consoles plz.

God as long as lose the stupid anime-esque art direction. OH, and the cheesy jokes in the dialogue...

If you've ever lived in a major U.S. city and been on a budget then you know the bus ride of suffering all too well.

The Castlevania name generator provided "Mix Tape of Chlamydia" on the second try, and I thought I'd stop on a high note.

And my personal favorite:

Concerto of Asparagus Pee

Also, this looks interesting but... I don't know. I loveed Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow, but I got bored of Portrait of Ruin and never ended up finishing it. Not sure what it was about it...

I'll keep an eye on this though.

Judging from the character conversation picture, it looks like they might have actually dropped the anime look and gone with the superior gothic style. It's about damn time Konami!

Female protagonist? Was IGA high or something? He hates female protagonists, they are either insanely weak or they die by the end.

Perhaps he has an open mind now. O_O

@ZekeThePlumber - I dunno, looks like anime to me. Either way I'm stoked, but if I were you and hated the anime look I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Can't wait for another great Castlevania game. Three cheers for 2D! HIP HIP...

First reason I bought my DS: New Super Mario Brothers
Second reason: Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow

I still play DoS, and in the same vein, Portrait of Ruin. Haven't touched NSMB in a long time.

Castlevania = win.

Though I doubt they'll do it again, an amazing pre-order bonus like the one they gave with PoR would be awesome.

And while I love my DS and the ability to play Castlevanias on the go, it would rock to get a 2D game for one or all of the consoles. I'd miss the top screen map/stats screen, but they'd be able to create a massive game. Doubt it'll happen...they seem to keep the consoles stuck in the sub-par 3D realm.

Castlevania Judgment is going to be a console game.

But I'm sure everybody already knows that.
