I seriously can't believe promos like this are still being made. Flashback: it's 1987, and this commercial comes on. As a kid, you go howling to your parents about how that was the coolest thing you've ever seen and you must have what those kids have so you can be like them right now! As an adult, we kind of feel sorry for the actors -- fun never looked quite so feigned.

Here we are, back in the future where we were supposed to have flying cars by now, and Nintendo is making the same commercial. Four kids hurl themselves around vigorously and play Samba De Amigo with a monkey. Suspension of reality, perhaps? I mean, whose parents are cool enough to invite a MONKEY over?

Does the monkey come with the game? Pre-order bonus, maybe?

If so, BEST GAME EVER.

Can someone please explain to me why I should be excited for this game?

wow that was ridiculous. I wish could find the maracas for the Dreamcast version at a reasonable price, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

@vexed alex
Your excitement/enjoyment for/of this game will most likely depend on how much you like rhythm games.

The monkey smiled at the kids whilst laying on its side.

Creepiest thing ever? I think so.

Brilliant marketing! I was looking forward to this game but now from looking at the ad I can see it's clearly just for kids. It would be just silly for a 31 year old to buy it.

I have always been a sucker for inconsistent ads, much like the one for guitar hero DS...when they are actually playing the game, they are quite obviously standing perfectly still, but when we are given a full-body shot of the players, they are jumping around like crazy.

Sega made that, not Nintendo.

Sega does what Nintendon't confirmed once more.
