2D sidescrollers are awesome, and there have been some pretty good ones making a debut recently. Soon to be added to the list is Rochard, in which a space miner kills space pirates in space. New screenshots are out, and posted for your viewing pleasure.

This game looks cool, and I love sidescrollers. And physics puzzles. I love those too. Rochard is scheduled to hit the PSN later this summer and will be $9.99. Buy it. Solve puzzles in space.

Rochard is making the jump to PC

Rochard, which first appeared on the PlayStation Network a few months back, has done well. It has done so well, in fact, that the developers, Recoil Games, are porting it to the PC. Starting November 15, the game will be up o...more

Review: Rochard

Hands-on: Use gravity to pummel space pirates in Rochard

Upon first playing Rochard, some immediate impressions come to mind. The art style of the game is very reminiscent of Team Fortress 2, using a similar bold and simple color pallet and cartoonish characters that seem to carry ...more

La-Mulana 2 aims to be more 'intuitive,' still hard as heck

La-Mulana was regarded by some as the hardest game ever. This isn't going to change, though Nigoro's Takami Naramura wants it to be slightly more intuitive so perhaps all those deaths don't lead to warranted frustration and ...more

Open world platformer/space shooter A.N.N.E is a retro buffet

Really, why even play clearly deficient retro games? I mean, where are the shmup segments in Metroid? Where are the open world segments in Contra? Where are the line segments in a bisected triangle? A.N.N.E. is one part platformer, one part shmup, one part RPG. And this year at PAX A.N.N.E. has all its systems in play. Maybe we'll all get to play it this year.more

Addiction allegory Spate's soundtrack is available now

Spate made a bit of a stir with its release last month, if not for its attempt to tackle themes more mature than shooting bullets at beefy dudes, then for its dated representation of absinthe as it exists and is understood to...more
