[New releases is your weekly look at all the hot new titles coming out this week.]
New Super Mario Bros. Wiihit store shelves this past Sunday. At first, I was completely against the new Mario game based on my feelings towards New Super Mario Bros. for the DS. It's up there with Super Mario Sunshine as one of the worst Mario games to me. But, after seeing the latest videos and reading our review, it looks like the new Mario game will be pretty great!
Hit the break for the full list of releases and trailers for most of the games as always.

Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Threaded. I loved Sunshine. Really saying Sunshine is the worst Mario game is not a terrible insult. They're all great. Also it makes people feel good to say that there is a bad Mario game.
no way, dude, sm sunshine was great. just a little too difficult for some. have to agree with you on nsmb ds, that game was just a little too easy, although it did have some really cool stages. who are we kidding, even the worst mario is better than 90% of what's out there. gotta say that i've been playing nsmbwii and cd:mw2 this weekend, and they're both extremely high quality games. if you miss either of them, you should be ashamed.
Sorry but Sunshine was my best Mario game AT ALL because it tried to change some things while keeping the core fun of Mario + it's my best platformer game of all time !
I'll probably end up getting L4D2 this week and split time between it and the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 beta over the weekend. I'll need to get Super Mario at some point too.
Just picked up Mario today, already beat the first world, and it's amazing! I love that the Koopalings are back, they're so much more interesting than Bowser Jr.
Midnighting Left 4 Dead 2, and then probably playing through the first campaign (Dead Center?) as soon as I go home.
My two cents on Sunshine: I think it's generally considered the worst Mario because they added too much. Mario works best at his simplest. Well, my favorite Mario games essentially have two buttons - jump and dash, with maybe a third button for the spin jump. And the 3D games work in a similar way, just replace dash with a punch or spin. Again, Mario at his worst is better than almost any other game out there, and still one of the best Gamecube games out there.
I'm waiting for my Amazon credit to show up so I can order NSMBWii and L4D2. I'll be getting AssCreedII eventually, but it's a low enough priority for me that it can wait for a price drop. I'm interested in LBP PSP as I don't have PS3, but that's another wait and see game. I'm also quite interested in Gyromancer on XBLA.

I'm the only person who liked that game aren't I?
I'm all over that.

But I don’t think it’s out in Europe till the 24th.
I'm thinking I will pick up AC2.
Would like to get LBP for PSP and maybe AC for PSP if it's any good, but those can probably just go on the Christmas list.

No seriously, tight controls, beautiful levels, charm, and easily the best music.
I'm finishing up Bowser's Inside Story, so now there's just that painful final stretch until my schedule clears up for gaming.

That's all that needs to be said.
