Both inFamous and Prototype are looking pretty good, and up until now I found it hard to pick a favorite between the two super-powered antihero sandbox games. However, this new trailer has quite frankly catapulted Prototype into my favor. Violence fetishists will not be disappointed with this new video.

Quite arrogantly calling itself "Top 10 Reasons You Must Have Prototype," the trailer makes a most compelling argument. Throwing victims into helicopters, riding hapless soldiers like surf boards and murdering vehicle passangers like some parka-clad xenomorph are just some of the ridiculous things shown.

Hit the jump for the video. I'm fairly certain you'll be excited.

Looks alright, but I prefer infamous, that game looks a lot more polished than this. The whole running up walls was cool, but I did it before in the spiderman games.

I noticed in some close up shots, the graphics looked damn nasty. I'll buy it when it becomes a lot cheaper. Even if that does take nearly a year.

While I've gotta say the above trailer is pretty awesome, I still believe that Sucker Punch can definitely make a way better game than Radical Entertainment, no offense meant to Radical. Unless everybody universally agrees that Infamous is abysmal, I will assume that it is a better game, simply because of the awesome Sly series. Hopefully they're able to transition from their cartoony world to a grittier realistic world as well as Naughty Dog and Insomniac were both able to.

I've been looking forward to this game, but this trailer has turned what was innocent desire into animalistic lust.

I approve of the over-the-top take on the GTA style open city theme :)

inFamous has nothing on Prototype! This trailer has so much awesome, I don't know where to begin. This game is like Shoot 'Em Up to the max!

the assume someone elses identity and then bring the military down from the inside thing is a pretty fresh idea... i hope theres alot to the story to where it doesnt get repetitive like a spiderman game

win.

Do I sense City of Heroes type leveling in this game? It seems unlikely that ALL of those powers occur in a single character ... that would make the controls pretty tough to master. So that would seem to imply skill trees & such. But maybe I'm reading too much into the trailer.

Am I the only one that see no connection between infamous and prototype ( other than there open world games besides that there really not similar in anyway ). I'll get both ( assuming there good, I still have my doubts about prototype, but infamous is looking better by the second ).

Buy, for both! Prototype looks like a mashup of Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, which are probably the two best superhero games around, and inFamous looks like the best parts of The Force Unleashed, except with a lot more lightning.

infamous doesn't seem nearly as unique or ground breaking. Honestly, I just see another -break- I just watched the trailer for infamous -end break- Are you fucking kidding me?! it's nothing to run home about mark my words you over zealous ps3 sack of crap boys, infamous will let you down. It's obviously another "be good or evil... you decide... kinda... well not really, this meter will decide" game.

after I read an interview of the developer of infamous, and he basically sounded painfully uncreative I've kind of being against Infamous. This prototype video certainly makes it look like it'll be fun as hell, regardless of how good or bad Infamous turns out to be.

I was a sucker for The Incredible Hulk, and SpiderMan 2. As a matter of fact, I love just about all Sand-box games for some reason. So this definitely has my attention.

Yeah, I'm getting Prototype and Infamous. Fuck choosing one.

Hmm - when this raises absolutely no interest in me, does that mean that KillZone 2 really DID crush any hope I had left of an action game being remotely exciting and interesting?
Or did that gypsy woman really steal my soul when I couldn't afford to pay for my fortune telling?

I think inFAMOUS looks fantastic. A friend has been shooting gameplay vids at me left and right. The problem I have with it is the lack of variety. Every trailer shows the main character shooting lighting over and over again and people and cars. I'm afraid it won't get much different than that.

I haven't followed Prototype much but was really surprised at the variety in gameplay and weapons. I also saw the auto-lock function that will be in the game, which reminded me of Crackdown (which is a very good thing).

I won't say I like one more than the other, but I think this video puts Prototype at the same level of inFAMOUS.

Visually speaking... this looks fucking terrible. Really, really, REALLY fucking terrible. Those explosions wouldn't be out of place on the PS2, and the textures and animations are just flat out ugly.

I think I'll stick with Crackdown.

Infamous sounded nice some time back, but the two trailers that recently dropped on the Playstation Network suggested nothing even remotely interesting, much less remarkable. If anything, it reminded me of a graphically inferior "Crackdown", which was definitely fun to pick up on occasion as a god-mode fluff piece, but certainly nothing to write home about.

I agree with Unangbangkay on Prototype though. I couldn't shake being reminded of Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, which was indeed a phenomenal superhero title. Most of the gameplay mechanics look both intriguing and fun, so I'd definitely agree that Prototype looks far more promising. Hopefully it won't be too repetetive and absent of story, 'cause it could definitely be good times.
