The rumored new PlayStation 3 model will, according to VG247, not be announced during Sony's press conference at gamescom next month. The site's anonymous source claims that such a reveal was planned at one point, but stock levels of the current PS3 model are too high right now to go forward.
What's more, the source also stated that the 16GB version listed by Brazilian Agency of Telecommunications Anatel will indeed use flash memory. Such a console could -- assuming it's actually going to come to fruition -- serve as an excellent way for latecomers to get a Blu-ray player that also happens to play games.
