New Pirates of the Caribbean action RPG announced photo

Aaaarrrrrrrgggggguess is that Disney wanted to get the word out about their new game a bit before E3 next week. Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned is an action RPG in the Pirates of the Caribbean universe, brought to us by Propaganda Games, the folks behind the latest Turok. The game takes place before the events of the popular films, where players will explore a massive world to gain experience and survive.

“Armada of the Damned is a dynamic action role-playing game that captures all of the franchise’s excitement, unpredictability and action while delving into narrative elements never before explored within this unique universe,” said Dan Tudge, vice president and general manager, Propaganda Games. “Our team’s collective experience with industry-leading RPGs and action titles provides a strong foundation for us to create and build a compelling action role-playing title.”

The press release says to expect a release in Fall 2010 for "next-generation consoles" and Windows PC.

@Qraze
FYI: Bethesda DID NOT develop POTC, they were simply the publishers. That game was utter crap and was developed by 7 Studios.

Cheers!

Screw it! I'm going to say it. I loved those movies. The second one would have been great if they didn't to that Matrix crap and stretch it into two films but I still found things to like.

However, all signs (developed by the guys who made latest Turok + Disney having final say on the game) say "Do Not Want". Oh well.

Turok was mediocre at best. And I'm not really into the PotC lore. So nah, no thanks.

I love me the PotC films.. The game was pretty bad. This new one? I'll keep my fingers crossed. *imagines Oblivion: Pirates*

I actually liked the PoTC game on xbox (even with all the horrendous bugs in it) the open world/build your own armada/hack n slash gameplay I thought was pretty cool. But with disney at the helm odds are 50/50 on this one.
