New Persona 4 character details: Yukiko Amagi photo

I always get my panties in a wad when it comes to anything related to the Persona series of videogames. Today, EternalDeathSlayer's Destructoid community blog wads my panties with news of a new Persona 4 character. EDS pulled this news from The Magic Box, but I did a bit more digging at the source, Famitsu.

This bespectacled gal's name is Yukiko Amagi, and her Persona is named Konohana Sakuya.  Yukiko will be voiced in the Japanese version by Ami Koshimizu. She's the main character's classmate and the daughter of a high-standing landlady. It seems that Yukiko uses a fan to attack. Famitsu is guessing that her Persona will be of the fire class.

Also in EDS's c-blog, Tragic Hero pointed out something I never noticed: all the characters wear glasses in battle. Could glasses be the new Evoker?

What do you think about this new character? What do you think about Persona 4 in general? Are you picking up Persona 3: FES next week?

the magic perhaps has something to do with the glasses in pairing with the cards.

Happy for all the P4 love. Anime + traditional JRPG = happy Novakaine.

I sure hope this gets released here seeing as how the ps2 is pretty much defunct. If not then I'll have to cry myself to sleep with my Mitsuru statue...

I've been discussing the glasses and tarot cards on the forums. From what I see, I don't think there's an 'evoker' in the game per se. The glasses look to help the protagonists 'see' something, whether it's the dungeons themselves or the Shadows or the tarot cards I dunno.

It's already been shown that they summon a persona by bringing out its tarot card, then destroying it.

I'm probably not picking up FES....

GTA 4 will take my life away for a while when it releases.

I don't want any time conflicts between the two.

I'm sure the glasses just have to do with Japan's continuing glasses fetish.

Just want to make a small comparison here
Main character = main character (of course)
Short haired jogging outfit girl = Yukari
Yukiko = Mitsuru
Brown haired guy w/knives = Junpei
Guy w/gun = Akihiko/Ken
Weird mascot = Dog

Not that it's bad, there's that similarity in the Persona anime too. That said, I can't wait for this game to come out, the characters and persona look great.
