It hurts because No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise may never come over here to America. No one has confirmed this, it's just a feeling I have. There may still be hope that the game will be released outside of Japan.
Anyway, the Hi-Def port of the original Wii classic has a April 15 release date now. As with any No More Heroes related video, be warned. You may not be able to handle all the badassness that is shown off here.
Japanese gamers will also get a special pre-order bonus as the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will each come with special sexy pin-ups. The PS3 version is called Sexy Cherry and the Xbox 360 version is called Sweet Mango.

Doesn't bother me at all as I have No More Heroes on my Wii where it belongs. Not trying to be a troll but I don't think this game would have the same charm without the full motion finishing moves and *ahem* recharge gestures.
I watched the video on the Japanese PSN and I can confirm that it doesn't look much better on the HD systems. It looks more like a straight port to me but without the things that make the game brilliant on Wii - I'm talking about the cell phone segments and the finishing blows.
@Daxelman and nilcam: It doesn't necessarily look better to me, but it does look less grainy. nilcam, was the video on the Japanese PSN grainier on an HDTV than in the youtube video?
Also, I did hear some English voices... may import if that is the case.
It looks a lot cleaner than the Wii version - but not much of a graphical update. I'll still be picking it up though, just to see what they change/tighten up.
I literally JUST beat the first NMH like...10 minutes ago and I see where everyone's coming from when they talk about the Wii's charm. I would definitely buy a PS3 port to support the franchise, though.
I've already preordered this. Back when it was supposed to come out earlier this month. I loved the wii version, so I'm eager to get my hands on the new features.
I found the 'waggle' controls in No More Heroes satisfying. Thank god you didn't have to physically swing for every single sword swipe (....Twilight Princess). There were times in NMH2 where I would be physically drained after a big battle, however, and that was fine. It added to the adrenaline rush.
I'm happy to see Suda 51's games getting better while still keeping their weird vibe. Travis Touchdown is, like, the coolest character of the past decade.
@Damack: It's because PS3 is a censored version, that got pixels instead of blood. The same version released on the Wii in Japan. The 360 is the uncensored version released in USA.
I really need to see some more video footage. It looks slightly better than the Wii version, but the video itself wasn't that great. I'm sure they will bring it to North America, why wouldn't they? I'm assuming it will be fairly inexpensive and I could see it selling a respectable number of copies. PROFITS!
I'd feel really horrible for anyone who's never played the original version, and then plays this HD port as their first exposure for the series. Anyone who played NMH2 should know, the Beam Katana control scheme from the Wiimote and Nunchuck DOES NOT work well on a standard control pad. A few filters do not make up for a shitty control scheme.
Tomasz Jaro - So what? It's not your right to play games. It's a hobby. If you can't afford it, that's fine. Then don't buy it at all. But supporting this port in any way is basically telling them "Hey, we don't even want Suda behind this. We just want tits and button mashing and to miss the entire idea behind the game!"
So yeah, enjoy ruining Suda completely with it. You're still never going to see a port of the sequel. Or probably even this version.
If you don't own the system that games you want are on, then buy the system. Otherwise, fuck off and stop bitching.
As a huge fan of NMH (and its sequel) on Wii, I'd probably buy this.
Also, it needs to be said: this game has the best music ever. Just hearing some of the tracks in the trailer made me want to buy it all over again. Graphics look nice too.
To Wii owners, I don't give a shit about jacking off my controller. I just want one of my favorite games ever made without having to buy another system.
Also I might add that its a damn shame NMH2 isn't coming out in Japan.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I've seen HiDef cel-shading (Katamari Forever), what I've seen looks better than that.
Then again, this is Youtube...that's probably it.
Also, I did hear some English voices... may import if that is the case.
But seriously, let's try it.

Now, just waiting for NMH2 to get a price drop.....
It's also being done without Suda's input at all and is pretty much just a cash grab, which again, is just missing the point of the game.
So basically supporting this but not the two games on the Wii is pretty much one of the dumbest things you could possibly do.
And learn how to be more articulate; it aids you in the lessening of your apparent stupidity.
I have, but don't understand why...
