New Motley Crue single 'Saints of Los Angeles' to hit Rock Band tomorrow

Add this to the previously announced Rock Band downloadable content for this week -- Harmonix and MTV Games have made a last minute announcement today, adding Mötley Crüe's new single "Saints of Los Angeles" to this week's DLC list. The song will be available tomorrow (April 15) on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 80 MS Points, and this Thursday (April 17) on the PlayStation Network for $.99.

The single comes off of Mötley Crüe's new record, The Dirt, which be availble in stores this June. My wife and I heard this song for the first time on the radio the other day, and both thought the same thing: "Yup, this sure does sound like Mötley Crüe." It's certainly no "Girls, Girls, Girls" and most definitely not "Shout at the Devil," but it'll do in a pinch.

This announcement comes hot on the heels of the revelation that Def Leppard will premiere their new single in a three-song DLC pack for Guitar Hero III. Has the "arms race" officially begun? If this kind of competition is going to have Activision and Harmonix trying to constantly one up one another, I say bring it on.

Wow, last minute surprises are always welcomed,
especially for pretty cheap.
Oh, and c-c-c-combo breaker, etc.

Played this for my boss without telling him what it was. His exact words:

"That sounds just like Motley Crüe."

I dislike Motley Crue, but since it's for Rock Band and not Guitar Hero III, it's cool.

Would rather the content availability be reversed.

That Crue song sucks hard...The Def Leppard song sounds much more enjoyable to play.

Motley Crue ftw, and i gree with Nick, watching people play these kinda songs is much more fun than something like radiohead.

Nick has a point, this type of rock does fit well especially with the guitar parts and the overall goofy nature of the songs.
Yeah, it's cheap so it solid purchase.

I suppose I'll get it when I get the money for DLC, I'm just not that excited about a new Crue single.
