New Lara Croft wants to find a man, has no idea what she's in for photo

Just like James Bond and Dr. Who, the character of Lara Croft is famous for being portrayed by a string of different people over the years. The only difference being that you actually get respect if you've played James Bond or Dr. Who. With a new Tomb Raider on the horizon, Eidos has unveiled the latest lady to portray Lara Croft in public appearances -- a receptionist from sunny, glamorous, stab-a-riffic Croydon.

Alison Carroll, described by comic book The Sun as "stunning and single," will follow on from the likes of Nell McAndrew and serves as the public face for action gaming's first lady. The story surrounding it, however, is absolutely hilarious, as The Sun reveals Carroll's intentions of finding a man:

But Alison told The Sun: "I'm single and having fun, I'm not looking for a long-term relationship as most men can't keep up with me.

"But playing Lara Croft, the sexiest game heroine there is, should get me a few more dates!"

Welcome to the games industry, Ms. Carroll. You're about find out exactly how thick and congealed the dating pool can be if you're hoping that portraying a 13-year old's wank fodder is about to dredge up the man of your dreams.

Oh man, i was 13 when the original came out. About the same time as I discovered the internet.

Long nights are looong.

But then again, so am I. Call me.

I didn't even realise they still had people playing dress up as Lara Croft. @Maximimus, a poor naive girl indeed.

What the hell does it even mean when a woman says "keep up with me?" Where are you going? Do you not own a house? Are you OCD and can't stop cleaning all the time? Honestly, I believe that's code for "I'm a pain the butt, and nobody wants to deal with me."

I am sorry to rant and I know the writer made a joke but the comment "you're hoping that portraying a 13-year old's wank fodder is about to dredge up the man of your dreams" is what makes me mad as far as this series goes. As a fan from the 2nd game on I enjoyed the plots as they were meant to be adventure stories with a twist of sci-fi every now and than plus great platforming and puzzles.
As I have played alot of the games it grew to be a average point that she was a girl who is in shape from the manor and all the crazy jumps and climbs she does and not really anything scantly about her that all came from the publishers ad's ect which don't really even represent the games themself all that well.
Nikmonroe they have had a different model for Lara for quite a few different times but again that is all Eidos stuff and not really that important to the game itself except for how she looks.

Hehehehe. Tits.

But yes indeed, I really don't think she knows what she's letting herself into. And that last paragraph is fucking gold, Jim.

She knows what she is getting into and the last paragraph is not gold the kind of thinking is part of why the industry is not taken seriously like movie or music, I don't really mean to be so serious but really there is no more saying good job to the lady just mocking her?

@artraider... Huh now what exactlly did you try and say then? It helps when you use punctuation and some type of grammer - unless you are proving that you can keep up with her by just missing out those silly things such as full stops and capitallettersinfactwhynotjustskipspacesto...? :)

And they games, not even played them after the 2nd one, tried to every time but either the demos or the story lines just killed it.

And Angelina Jolie (sp? can't be arse checking) was the best Lara... ever... Good luck to Ms. Carroll though have a feeling it will remain "Ms." for quiet a bit yet.

Sorry for poor spelling and such, I guess the stories never bothered me its just what is happening in that adventure and never tried the demos as I just bought the next one that came out, the Jolie Lara was ok but Lara was never that talkative and lived life raiding tombs with no extra help.

"I'm single and having fun"

That's chick code for "slut".

"most men can't keep up with me"

Right...Unless you're an athlete, you aren't doing anything that requires "keeping up with".

But what about Kareem Abdul-Jabar, or whatever the fuck her name was?! I liked her a lot. This one has partially exposed boobs, though...

Yeah, so, Alison... call me. I'm available. I live in exciting America, but I am from London, England, so you can feel confident bringing me home to mum. My penis works and I can probably "keep up with you," whatever the hell that means. So, let me know. Okay? Thanks.

For one, I'm going to veer away from the usual comments.
2nd, I really like the energy, and her motivation with Alison being a model for a character many just take for granted as a videogame character.
And her eyes just have so much power to them, you can't look away.
