A new teaser ad has appeared in Japanese magazines promising news on a brand new Kojima Productions game, due to be announced on May 19. The advert displays a foreboding stormy sky, overlooking a dry grass field. What could it be? Naturally, there are theories.
Some are using the stormy sky to suggest that this will be a new Metal Gear game starring Raiden. The word "raiden" denotes lightning in Japan, and it could well be a subtle ploy by the famously cheeky Hideo Kojima. Some also say they see Snake lying down in the storm clouds, but that's going a bit too far into "stupid" territory for my liking.
If you want to be really Da Vinci Code about this ad, there is also a house hidden carefully in the background. Whether that means anything or not, who knows, but it's there if you want to pick the image apart and get all hyped up before the official announcement. I know some of you do.
The rest of us will have to sit tight until May 18 when this mystery game is revealed. Here's hoping Kojima isn't teasing us off the edge of the cliff of disappointment, as he is often wont to do.

Leave Metal Gear as it is.
Especially if it's going to be "FUCK YEAH WE'RE RAIDEN WATCH US CHOP SHIT UP AND DO BACKFLIPS AS AN EFFEMINATE SIDE KICK" just like Dirge of Cerberus.
My money is on that.
I second that motion about ZoE.
- Software back compatibility with MGS2 and MGS3 OR MGS2 and MGS3 in a nice disc.
- Raiden Missions a la MGS2 "Snake Stories"
- Trophies.
A Raiden Spin Off
Completely New Game
All these ideas sound good to me and the best part is it will be announced 2 days before my birthday, what a great present it will be.
However if it's something shitty I will not be amused.
God dammit I don't think I've ever been more excited about a teaser than this!
I vote for a new game starring Volgin! Not really but it does make sense in a way... I love to speculate on far fetched stuff. Is that a mulberry field?
(p.s. for those that haven't played MGS3:
The phrase was used in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater by Colonel Volgin every time it rains in the game, except for in his death scene, in which he is struck and killed by a bolt of lightning.
Kuwabara kuwabara is a phrase used in the Japanese language to ward off lightning. It is akin to the English phrase "knock on wood" to prevent bad luck.
When translated to English, kuwabara means 'mulberry field'. According to one explanation, there is a Chinese legend that mulberry trees are not struck by lightning. In contrast, Joya asserts that the "origin of kuwabara is not definitely known, but it has nothing to do with mulberry plants, though it means 'mulberry fields."

@ Takeshi. I had no idea what Volgan meant when he kept on repeating Kuwabara. Now I know, and knowledge is power! Stay in school kids.
CONFIRMED: Volgin spin-off. Possibly rhythm game.
Zone Of The Enders would be nice too.
Come on, I know I'm grasping here. >P
:p
body on left side with arms crossed on chest, the shoulder/head is on the right side.
i think we are getting a SD(super deformed) version of metal gear.
maybe a sprite/2d nintendo DS version?
is metal gear coming to PS3's HOME?
how about that for a teaser possibility?
I was thinking about Home as well. There are people in the background too. Pray to god that's not it!
Hopefully Zone of Enders 3 comes out soon.
...
Oh, that Raiden.
They should buy Mortal Kombat.
.... "Snake on a Plane"?
I wouldn't mind to play as Raiden again...
Personally, I think it's a coincidence. But whatevs. If it's something MGS related, s'all cool.
2-Sun ,Flower and Rain 2 - Going emo

Oh wait I see sonic in the clouds, must be Mario and Sonic at the Shadow Moses.
