The next Kingdom Hearts game is right around the corner. This prequel, Birth by Sleep, hits the PSP in Japan in a matter of days, and there's a new trailer to come out of the Jump Festa event to give you a better look at it.
This 7+ minute trailer gives you several glimpses at the story side of this game. There are tons of brief cameos by Disney characters, all in a row. You wanna see battle game play? It comes at 4:46 in, hitting right at the climax of Hikaru Utada's "Simple and Clean." It ends with a bang. Only Square Enix can cut game trailers like this.
I'm not going to lie: this trailer pumps me up. I really want to play this. Am I alone in this?

Looks good. The seem to have stuffed just about every relevant KH character into the story and then some. I like that Neverland and Stitch are getting mixed in with the classic-era Disney princesses, Neverland and Stitch needed a bit more play anyway.
I always wondered why they held off on Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, yet made Maleficent a big bad within the series. I guess this part of the story had actually been on the books for a good long while and why we're seeing these movies integrated now.
Also, I'm hoping that bit with Castle Oblivion wasn't just for show.
Might try to squeeze in a Love/Hate about this series. Very excited for this game, but this whole series is such a guilty pleasure for me. I'm slightly ashamed of how much I love something that is so "Hot Topic".

The Light/Dark thing isn't much more cliched than it is in Star Wars or any other fantasy plot, its the convoluted plot is really what makes the guilty pleasure.
I'm more disappointed that FFXIII seems to have fallen back to it after FFXII didn't try to be so cut-and-dry about who their characters were.
No sir you are not alone I think this game looks great, I played through 1-2 ( thought 2 was brilliant) but did not bother with chain of memories because I had heard bad things about it. Seems it controls okey in the trailer but I am interested in seeing how it controls normally.
I am going to pick this up when it comes out in the EU
So ading on from the last trailer, we got cameos from xigbar, and kid versions of Sora, Kairi, Riku, Axel, Zexion, and Siax... i think anyway, and my inner fanboy is loving it!

Most likely because of the DS's obvious graphical limitations... PSP is capable of running on a similar level as the PS2, while the DS is more like the original play station... Since they had to hold back graphically for the DS, they probably felt it was not worth it to go all out in most every aspect. The PSP on the other hand, can rock the graphics so it's much more worthwhile to invest a lot of time and energy into every aspect of the game...
FUCKING. EPIC. I got chills. My mind was blown half way through as I started piecing together what I think might be going on. Did I see Zack briefly there? Wouldn't it be cool if we got to see Mickey on his rise to being king?
Anyway, I hope this is more like a portable version of the PS2 games. I like how the DS version is designed to be more portable friendly but at the same time it feels limited as compared to the rest of the series.
I don't know, I never played any of the Kingdom Hearts aside from 1 and 2. Somehow I feel that if I played this game I'd have no idea what's going on due to Nomura's convoluted storyline. Seeing Disneyn characters speak Japanese is kind of strange, especially Mickey.
On a related note: I've almost completely lost interest in anything Disney related since Epic Mickey's let down.

Disney knows their shit
None of this "We want a localized voice that fits the audience" nonsense
Also, I'm excited, though the story will again leave me in the dust.
Btw found a higher quality version

And a board game there? Interesting.

I came.
