I've been frothing at the mouth for this game for a few months now. With releases like this and Crisis Core on the horizon, it looks like the PSP may soon be competing with the DS for the role of champion of the portable role playing throne. Who would've thought it?

Level 5 excite me in a way that few developers do -- and that is because they are carving a clear line of evolution. I wasn't a huge Dark Cloud fan, but I definitely enjoyed Dragon Quest VIII, and by the look of Jeanne D' Arc it seems as if they may be coming even further into their own.

The game boasts 40 hours of gameplay and a rich skill customization system allowing you to pump your characters up with over 150 skills and abilities. I believe they call that mad skills now, but what is it called in medieval France? Qualifications folles?

Eh. I know how the game's gonna end. Somebody is gonna threaten France and they're going to surrender as always.

@High Voltage -- you do know that the French kicked the shit out of the British and sat on their throne for hundreds of years, right?

Wasn't Napoleon Bonaparte French? And didn't he, like, conquer most of Europe or something? (At least until he made the mistake of fucking with Russia, same as Hitler did.)

As for the game itself, it looked pretty cool until I realized it was a tactical RPG. I dunno, tactical RPGs just haven't really done much for me since the original Final Fantasy Tactics.

The animated cutscenes seem reminiscent of Zelda on the 3DO i think it was. Looks like fun, but I like games that I can pick up and play, then put down whenever. That is why I am kind of afraid to get an RPG on the PSP. I can't play metal gear Portable Ops much because of that, Idk. Maybe i'm a loser, yeah, beck said it, and so can I.

@ImOk

I couldnt agree more on that original FFT statement... I hope SE fixes the lag bug on the new FFTPSP for NA, cuz the JP one sucks.

@brain

actually, u can turn off ur PSP on any game, movie, w/e ur doing and when u turn it back on, u will be right where u left off. the greatest pause of all time invention.

its great for work! let me tell you! when the bosses arent looking, play for a tad and... oh sh*t, here comes Niero w/ a whip... >_>;; off off! *tosses psp to summa*

I don't think either of these games will be system sellers, but this certainly looks like a great game that should make current PSP owners glad that they have one.

Not sure about this title being a system seller, but you can be sure Crisis Core will be :-).
