New James Bond game inspired by old James Bond games photo

I have many, many concerns about new James Bond game, Blood Stone, but I am eternally happy that the series is returning to third person and in capable hands with Bizarre Creations. My joy over the return to third person is mostly because Everything or Nothing, EA's second-to-last outing with the franchise, was probably the best single-player Bond experience ever made (don't listen to Anthony) and it was third person (their last outing, From Russia With Love, was no slouch either).

That is why I'm thrilled to hear that the team behind Blood Diamond went back and got plenty of ideas and insight from previous Bond games, especially EoN. In an interview with 1Up where he explains what the game is all about producer Nick Davies said, "For me Everything or Nothing is the best Bond game ever made -- nothing comes close to it in terms of showing the variety and essence of Bond, so of course we played that ... I also jumped straight onto Ebay and picked up most of the old Bond titles; I was actually quite surprised how many quality titles there have been ... with EoN being my favorite, but Nightfire is also a great game."

True words, my man. In fact the rest of my night will be spent popping in and out all my old Bond games. I might even dust off the GBA version of EoN. Was it good? No. Did it have the words James Bond on it? Yes.

Best news yet. I'd be playing some EoN right now if I had a copy and a console that would run it.

Sorry to be picky, but it's called Blood Stone, not Blood Diamond.

I also thought that Everything or Nothing was excellent and i think an honourable mention should go to Nightfire as well - Very solid FPS that had the weight of Goldeneye on its back yet emerged as a strong entry in the series.
Infact, apart from Rogue Agent, all the Bond games have been pretty damn good......

Everything or Nothing was fucking amazing.

Your friend Anthony is entitled to his opinion, but it's wrong!
If Blood Stone comes anywhere near EoN in terms of quality I'm buying that bitch!

Everything or Nothing was probably the best of the EA developed Bond titles which makes it one of the better Bond games. I've played almost every Bond game ever made and GoldenEye is still the best. I would rate TWINE on N64 second. One often overlooked game is the smart little 007 RPG/Adventure on the original GameBoy. Very worth playing!

@Engles

Thanks for pointing it out. I actually just finished reading Blood Diamonds so must have slipped in.

@jc83

TWINE was good, but unfortunately for me just felt like it was trying to be GoldenEye. Not it's own fault really. RPG/Adventure rocked. You should check out Quantum of Solace on the DS if you haven't. It's not great, but actually does some interesting things.

I'm going to say this with a straight face but License To Kill was a better Bond game than Goldeneye.

The worst Bond game I ever played was A View To A Kill. You kids are lucky to get away with just Rogue Agent.

Awwww, remember when life was all like "goldeneye is like the best game ever!" "look at those fucking 3D graphics!" "Wow it's like were playing a shooting game and shooting EACH OTHER!!!!"

How far we've come guys, how far we've fucking come.

i love this hobby of ours.

Omigosh. I loved EoN and I remember playing Nightfire with my friend all the time (oddjob ftw).

Another particularly fun 3rd person Bond game I remember was Tomorrow Never Dies on the PS1. Urrrggh, nostalgia... *heads to nearest Gamestop and/or Play-N-Trade*

Im glad that I wasn't the only one that loved EVERYTHING OR NOTHING! Even "From Russia with Love" was bare able due to the simple fact they followed EoN footsteps.

I'm glad this Bond's going 3rd person again, since I too loved EoN (especially co-op!) but...that means I'd have to look at that bastard Daniel Craig...

One important factor that will always keep Everything or Nothing above Blood Stone is the fact that it has a real Bond in it. I cannot wait for this Craig hack to roll out and hopefully we get a real Bond again, you know, one that actually fits the look of James Bond, and also the return of Q. (Seriously, Bond without Q? Fucking stupid).

@sexualchocolate - Uh, GoldenEye is still the best game ever. You are just a jaded old troll of a gamer who can't get past his anti-Nintendo stand.

Did the editor DIE or something? I had to reread those run-on paragraphs several times to figure out what the hell was being said.
