New Jak and Daxter available November 3 photo

Just in time for my birthday (November 6 -- ice cream cake as a gift is acceptable), Sony has announced that Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier will be on stores shelves and on the PlayStation Network on November 3.

This is a bit of an interesting release, as it'll be available at retail for both the PSP and the PlayStation 2. If you don't want to leave the house or only have a PSPgo, you can also download it from the PlayStation Network. Having options is good, I suppose.

I've been playing an early preview build of The Lost Frontier on the PSP, so check back next week for some impressions and details. In the meantime, spoiler alert: Daxter turns into a monster. Yup.

I was always more of a Jak fan than I was a Ratchet fan. Jak II was in my top 5 of last gen games. I wish my PS3 was backwards compatible. :(

Jak 3 was probably my favorite PS2 game. I liked the first two but I liked 3 so much more. The only downside was how short it was.

Come on, Jak is a AAA title, what the hell are they doing?

When I first read that I thought, "HOLY SHIT THEY MADE A NEW JAK AND DIDN'T TELL ANYONE!"

This is how irrational I've become without my Naughty Dog goodness.

PS2 is f'in awesome and should never be allowed to die.
Games cost less to make on it than the current gen and as a result, we had a Ton more variety.
It's actually exciting to hear of a new well-made (non Wii/PS2 hybrid) game.

What can I say? It won't happen, but I'd be delighted if every "current" gen system bit the dust and PS2 got it's crown back.

I've been on the fence about buying a PSP, and this is starting to really push me in that direction...

But then again, I might just buy it for PS2. This is sick, though. Still need to play the first few but I've always had a huge interest in the series.

The Jak series was/is one of my favorites. They were all great. Daxter on PSP was okay. I didn't think it was as good as everyone said it was. It was just the only good game around at the time, and that made it even better. Writing this has made me want to go play it though....

I simply love the jak and daxter series. Jak II was possibly my favorite game from last gen. That is quite a statement considering the number of triple A titles available for the PS2. I really am shocked that naughty dog has not announced anything on a ps3 jak and daxter game. I mean insomniac made resistence 1 and 2 along with 2 new ratchet and clanks (plus quest for booty) so don't tell me naughty dog has been too busy with uncharted to do it.
