It has been confirmed that Rare will finally be revealing assets for its highly anticipated (at least by me) game Banjo-Kazooie 3, an Xbox 360 exclusive, at Microsoft’s media summit next week in San Francisco.
There’s no word on exactly what will be shown, but any new info is good info, right? I am one of the biggest Banjo-Kazooie fans on the planet and will be waiting with bated breath (while stroking my Clanker doll) for the assets to drop at exactly 8:00 AM PST this coming Tuesday (5/13). I may not be the one to post them, but rest assured that someone here at Destructoid will get them up as quickly as his/her little blogger hands can move.
So, we are finally going to see how the game looks. Yay! What will the final character models look like? Is it still going to be a traditional platformer? Will Grunty make yet another return? How excited are all of you about Banjo-Kazooie 3, the game I am looking forward to more than any other this year (I adore you Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil, but — sorry — you ain’t got nothing on the bird and bear)?

They damn well better not fuck this game up. Tooie fell considerably in quality when compared to the first game, but when you're talking about one the top 5 3D platformers ever you're bound to roll that way.
05/09/2008 17:09
What are you talking about? Tooie had amazing gameplay mechanics and a assload of new abilities and you started with ALL of the previous game special techniques.
But I have to admit that level design was superior on the first game.

One thing I find unique about Banjo fans is that while fans of most other games just get to sort of hang out and check out media, only getting excited near release, us Banjo fans are treating this info day as if it IS the release. A single screenshot is a megaton whereas it's scoffed upon for any other franchise. Rare has truly fucked with us.

You just made 90% of my case for me. The other 10% rest with the less endearing characters.

Your efforts from Starfox Adventures onwards have been shall we say... less than impressive. I will concede that SA went through far too many redesigns to ever be the game it should have. Grabbed by the Ghoulies was bashed out quickly just so you could get something out there, and Perfect Dark/Kameo are both games that have been ported over from Gamecube to Xbox to 360, being redesigned at every turn.
Taking all of this into account I'm ready to give you the benefit of the doubt one last time. You've got a game designed from the ground up for this new hardware, which you already have experience on. If this game is less than crotch-grabbingly awesome you are dead to me.
You are on notice for being shit Rare.
