According to a preview in the latest issue of PSM3, Rocksteady's forthcoming sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum, called Batman: Arkham City, will feature a multiplayer mode.
The details on what this can mean are scarce, as the preview only reads "Multiplayer is a certainty, but [there are] no details on this yet." Whether or not this was confirmed to the magazine by the game's developer or if the writer is just making assumptions is unclear. A cooperative multiplayer mode has been rumored for awhile, with folks throwing around the idea that a second player may control either long-time Batman sidekick or the slinky Catwoman.
The Arkham City fun doesn't stop today, as a slew of screenshots have surfaced, and this much is confirmed: it looks bonkers. Check the gallery for the goodies, try to keep your eyes in your skull, and speculate on what a multiplayer mode in Arkham City might offer.

Most everything I hear about this game makes me horny. Except for this. This makes me a little nervous.
Not because I don't think they could do it, but because they might ditch content from the main game to squeeze in multiplayer content. That would suck. A lot!!

I don't think this will be an issue. My guess is it's an option for those that want it, or it gets it's own dedicated mode.

But Two-Face and Harley Quinn? I came BUCKETS. At least for Harley. Two-Face looks cool though.
Anyway If anyone can do multiplayer in this game it's Rocksteady.

I hope the multiplayer goes beyond Batman and Robin/Catwoman, and lets you play as other chars like this new Harley Quinn.
Shots look beautiful but I was kinda hoping for more non-joker thug type enemies. These guys just look like they changed from dirty prison uniforms to dirty wifebeaters and clown makeup. It's still early so this could all be different. Bring on Clayface and the Penguin!
