"She Bangs the Drums," as made famous by The Stone Roses, was unveiled as a new playable Guitar Hero III song yesterday during an exclusive hour-long screening at Edinburgh Interactive Festival. The song comes off of the 1989 self-titled The Stone Roses album, a record which had (and has) the British music press creaming all over themselves.

This was the first time members of the British public were able to get their hands on the game, witnessing first hand the new boss battles, as well as multiplayer modes. Zach Fountain, General Manager of RedOctane Europe says the rock is not going to stop here.

"The Guitar Hero franchise has already established itself as part of mainstream pop culture," he says, "so it was a perfect place to unveil one of our UK-originated songs. The Guitar Hero road show moves from here to Leipzig, where we'll be announcing a whole new stack of European songs for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock."

With an already solid (and surprising) track list, it'll be interesting to see what RedOctane pulls out of their hat at this year's Games Convention.

Songs announced for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock so far include:

Destiny had the 'largest console beta ever' for a new IP

Did you get in on the Destiny beta? I did, but only after access was opened to all. Managed to play for about an hour which, after the cut scenes and loading, wasn't enough time for me to get a true sense of how I feel about ...more

Video: Much of Advanced Warfare's plot revealed by trailer, and I think I smell a beta coming

A campaign trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare came out which goes over some of the plot points. I also speculate on some rather obvious, yet still uncertain, plot developments to come. The trailer also announced a multiplayer reveal coming August 11, which I theorize could come with a beta announcement.more
