New Golden Sun pays homage to original game's commercial
Some new videos of Golden Sun: Dark Dawn have emerged that at first, really doesn't mean much beyond what you see. But the folks at Tiny Cartridge have some excellent memory and realized that developer Camelot Software is actually paying homage to the original Golden Sun's commercial. The ad, above, is pretty weird but nothing out of the ordinary for a Nintendo commercial from back in the day. Opera house battle with a crystal chandelier dragon, whatever. Now the crystal dragon is an actual summon in Dark Dawn and there's even a battle in an opera house in the new game. Pretty cool. Old Golden Sun commercial finally makes sense thanks to Dark Dawn [Tiny Cartridge]

Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)Man, I remember that commercial from when I was in sixth grade. I remember wondering what the hell it had to do with the game when I actually played it. I guess I don have to wonder anymore. That is awesome, the way it picks up (sometime) after that commercial. And reusing ideas no less. :P Wow that's pretty cool, never expected that dragon chandelier thing to be put in the new game. Actually this is kinda sorta like a dream come true cuz I always thought that dragon was pretty awesome and would be cool in Golden Sun. Yeah Nintendo did have great commercials back in the day. Remember the Metroid Zero Mission commercial where the gymnast girl did Samus' trademark front-flipping jump? 5:00 AM on 05.24.2013 Watch Donkey Kong scare a bunch of kids at the zooHow does Nintendo go about promoting Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D? 8:00 PM on 03.03.2013 Oh hey, these SimCity ads are actually funnyTypically, when it comes to videogame ads at least, actors don't usually do a good job of promoting a game. That's not the case here with these SimCity ads, thankfully. Actor Adam Devine of Workaholics fame did a few promos for the game and they're all pretty funny. Fancy that. SimCity is out this week for the PC. Are you planning on picking it up?
