New gameplay trailer for Ether One takes us to the coast

11:00 PM on 11.23.2012

When we last saw some footage from the first-person puzzle title Ether One, we got some really lovely locations (and the game was simply called "Ether"). Now there's almost four minutes of gameplay footage showing off some of the game's deliberate pacing and haunting voice over. It's clear the devs at White Paper Games are valuing story and an emotional connection here.

Judging from the trailer, this looks like it's going to have environmental puzzles that you'll need to solve, similar to Penumbra and Amnesia. There seems to be a sci-fi conceit which you can read more of on the official website (spoilers, guys?). You can also Greenlight Ether One on Steam now if first-person puzzle games are your thing.

I died an embarrassing amount in Hotline Miami 2

High Strangeness lets you shift between 8-bit and 16-bit

Longtime Destructoid community member AgentMOO's High Strangeness was back at PAX this year with a nearly done build. With the help of indie publisher Midnight City, High Strangeness is coming out late this year on PC and consoles. Holmes and Ben "AgentMOO" Shostak talked about the "12- bit" adventure and enemies that get more nefarious and capable as you do when you switch to the 16-bit world.more
