New Final Fantasy XIII screens are blue, dabba die dabba doo photo

Famitsu has done what Famitsu does best, and spewed up some fresh images of Square Enix's latest RPG extravaganza. Final Fantasy XIII is riding the hype chariot into the stratosphere as we edge ever closer to its release, and while screenshots don't do the game's visuals justice, we can still gawp at them a bit anyway.

The new screens show off what looks to be your obligatory ice cavern, complete with an incredibly silly motobike and some bright blue bint who is wearing something over her eyes. That sounds like Final Fantasy to me. Check them out and let us know what you think. They're very blue, aren't they?

@body
FFXII left a horribly sour taste in my mouth, but in this day and age where Shooters have choke-slammed the industry, no, you're one of a million who can't stand JRPGs.

That said, I can't wait until this series from my childhood makes a triumphant return. I'm hoping this game is good. If not, Versus looks amazing.

@bodybreak Probably you'd have to be almost brain dead to not care about Final Fantasy. Whether it's action version, rpg version, or MMO version. Most normal people have one they care about or at least are interested in.

As to the Effiel 65 reference I'm amazed anyone listens to it other than my girlfriend.

@bodybreak: was about to type Dabba die myself. Nice catch.:)

I care about it, but I have plenty of friends who don't, so you're not alone there.

i played the 16bit versions when i was a kid, and FF7 is one of my favourite games of that era -- but after crystal chronicles for the gamecube i started to grow a little sick of the "series". i mean, there's no real continuity or canon, so why stick Final Fantasy in the name if you're only going to milk the franchise and have an excuse to use the same tired, old themes.

I never thought they could topple the Shiva of FFVIII - but here we are, motorcycle with lesbian incest intentions. Nice.

I liked FFXII, although it's more like a big Final Fantasy Tactics than a traditional FF.

Final fantasy is always a push in the game's world. A big, expensive push. Even if you don't like the game, it's good to see what these SquareEnix guys are doing.

Bodybreak, I'm with you... I'm just not into JRPGs full stop. Blame interplay - thay killed off the cute JRPG off for me.

Can't say that any of the FF series intrigues me. If I wanted to see chick-lookin' dudes, I'd wander into Boystown. If I wanted to wait my turn, I would play hopscotch. And if I wanted monsters, I would go play Pokemon. In fact, I did, in middle-school. As far as JRPG's in general, ugh. Lost Odyssey was OK, but, *shiver* Don't even get me started on FFXI...

And as to the Eiffel 65 reference, according to wikipedia they were very, very, (did I mention very?) popular. Hell, I listened to them when I was playing pokemans.
