Sorry for the unimaginative post title, but Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers has such a long-ass name that I didn't have room for any extra words other than "new," "video," and "doesn't suck."
It's true, though -- so far, this game doesn't look too bad, although other than the requisite inclusion of chocobos and moogles, most of the stuff shown here is going to look pretty weird to most Final Fantasy fans. Cactuars growing to enormous sizes as the player is congratulated for a "New Reaction," bombs and goats being thrown across open fields via telekinesis, and a neon heart-light flying out a pig-woman's face and into the head of a green-haired child are just a few of the things going on here that are unlike anything I've ever seen in a Final Fantasy game ... or any game, for that matter.
So what do you think? Is this what you always imagined Final Fantasy on the Wii would be like? Does the music that runs for the first 60 seconds of the video make you want to pull your ears off? Want to see this trailer in HD? Finally, do you understand Japanese? If you do, please leave a comment explaining what the hell is going on here. I want to know if that neon heart-light is for "platonic love," like the kind found in R-Type Final, or if it's the other kind of love -- the kind folks usually aren't allowed to launch at children's heads in public.

For the record, FF6 is the best RPG ever made.
Looks interesting, and telekinesis is always a cool party trick.
This also looks like something original for the most part, which is always great in my book.
I am disappointed. Yes, the first 60 seconds of music makes me want to nuke every bit of this country that might have inspired the twangy bluesish country retardation that assaulted my eardrums.
They should've given the protagonist spikey hair. Beats the hell out of that coifish retard mullet. And what's with the mechanic? I pick things up and throw them. Have fun doing that for sixty hours.
@ Necros- Did Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King have multi-player?
@ Killas2- No, Mother 3 is the best RPG ever made.
JUST TRY AND PROVE ME WRONG
@Necros
I thought the Crystal Chronicles had to do with the style/world that the games were taking part in, and less to do with the multiplayer. I expect to see Yukes, Clavats, Selkies and Lilties!
Well, I have played Mother 3 yet, so I can't make any definitive argument. I have played Mother 2, and, while it is a fantastic game, it PROBABLY isn't in my top 10 favorite RPG's of all time. I expect the same from Mother 3. Don't take that as a dig against the Mother games.. I love them. I've just played a lot of great RPG's.
Quick guess at top 10 (in no particular order, only looking at traditional RPG's): FF4, FF6, FF7, Chrono Trigger, Phantasy Star 4, Chrono Cross. Mother 3 actually might get in here, but there are lots of mights: Tales of Phantasia, Star Ocean, FF10, Suikoden 2, FF5, FF1, FF3j, Star Ocean 2, Live A Live (highly recommended!), Xenogears (damn great story), etc.
Once I get to western RPG's, tactical RPG's, and action RPG's, the numbers like quadruple, but I won't go further here.
Mother 3 is really, really different from Earthbound. Earthbound is to Mother 3 as Final Fantasy 1 is to Final Fantasy 2/4. That's how drastic the jump is in terms of characterization, story progression, etc.
For serious, you should give the game a shot.
One concern I do have, is that I saw no multiplayer, and that makes me a sad panda.

How would it compare with "Earthbound Zero" (Mother 1)'s jump to Mother 2/Earthbound? I've played enough of E0/M1 to get a pretty good idea of what E/M2 meant to the series.
Regardless, I plan on playing it.. but I have about a million RPG's that I need to play and/or finish: Crisis Core, Star Ocean: First Departure, Star Ocean: Second Evolution or whatever its called, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Symphonia 2.. and a bunch of less standard RPG's a la Zelda Wind Waker, Zelda TP, Super Paper Mario, a bunch of GB/DS Castlevania games, Jeanne d'Arc for the PSP, etc. It's really hard for me to sit down and just play one RPG to the end anymore, which is probably why my traditional jrpg list tends to overemphasize SNES/PSX generation games.
Essentially, I want to play it. I need to sit down and actually do it.
Touche. Totally forgot about that game. Guess in that regard, Crystal Chronicles just means "the Nintendo-focused Final Fantasy games" to SquareEnix.
This may actually get me to dust off my Wii and start enjoying it again.
I look forward to it.
This just reminds me of how much I want another Skies of Arcadia. Lots, that's how much. Guess this'll have to do until then... saying that, it [i]does[i/] look pretty fresh and just a little bit nifty
It does have a ridiculous acronym.
