New Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles among first games announced for Wii Ware photo

Some of the first "official" Wii Ware titles have been announced, during a Fall 2007 Nintendo Conference that took place in Japan today.

According to Nintendo, the Wii Ware service is going to be getting more than just mini-games and puzzle titles. Square Enix is already on board, and are creating a new title for the service, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Young King and The Promised Land. It is said that in the game, you will build your own country, but no other information has been revealed.

Also announced is the money-printing Pokemon Farm, where players can transfer over Pokemon from the Diamond/Pearl DS games to raise them in a farm-like environment. Other Wii Ware titles shown at the conference include Star Soldier R and Doctor Mario

Does this sound like an Xbox Live killer to anyone? More on this as it comes in.

I'm all up in that Dr. Mario. Ever since that Nintendo rep didn't accidentally tell me about the online multiplayer it won't be featuring.

Wii needs a lot of memory. They should seriously consider making a portible hard drive that plugs into the usb on the back, because my Wii's memory is full and overflowing.

They really need a hard drive. This sound pretty good though.

Man, I was actually hoping they'd release the new FFCC on an actual game disc. Maybe hoping isn't the right word. Expecting? I'm kind of confused.

@Dexter345
They are releasing the new FFCC on disc and on the DS. This will be a new Wiiware title.

I bet they're wishing now that they actually put a decent Hard Drive in. I find this more troublesome than the craphics.

So... Crystal Chronicles, by it self, would take up all your memory on the Wii, right?

Cue the "Hercules" theme song.

All of the downloads sound hella intersting. Just Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Young King and The Promised Land by itself is awesome - as long as it allows for simple and fun co-op play. But Dr. Mario and Pokemon Farm sound interesting as well. I don't think you "raise" Pokemon in Pokemon Farm, but I do know that you will be able to snap pictures of your Mii with your Pokemon and send them with your Wii Friends.

For pics of Pokemon Farm, check here.

For pics of Dr. Mario check here.

Also, if you check the link to the translation of the Ge-maga liveblog at IGN you see this:

"14:30: Monster Hunter 3 will be released for the Wii!

This is quite big because the game was originally announced for the PS3. It's also one of Japan's biggest series, with the past two PSP games having both sold over a million units."

Wow, that is huge! I guess Capcom does not want to deal with horrible PS3 sales in Japan. Good luck finding something to make up for Monster Hunter, Sony, because you guys need it now.

And this:

"13:37: First, quick trailer clips of DS games set for the end of the year. Each title gets five seconds. Footage of Fire Emblem DS and Dragon Quest IX shown."

What a good time to show DQIX, amirite?

So I guess this is different than the full Crystal Chronicles they're working on for Wii? And also, is that a new Star Soldier game or a remake?
