I'm sure you'll agree that Tecmo makes a damned fine videogame, but my favorite of all their works is the Fatal Frame/Zero/Rei series of games. While it isn't the most popular of the survival horror games, I think it manages to be one of the scariest, and I've been looking forward to details on the upcoming Wii version since we first heard about it last fall.
Famitsu has new details on the title that they're calling Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse (or Rei: Tsukihami no Kame). This Nintendo/Tecmo/Grasshopper Manufacture (No More Heroes, Killer 7) collaboration brings back Fatal Frame 3 producer Keisuke Kikuchi, who says that "the moon, a mask, and memory play a major role in the title," the fourth of the series. It looks like Suda Goichi (Suda 51) will get his hands on the title as well.
At an event, two minutes of footage from Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse was shown off. It seems that the game features a girl who lost her memory. Famitsu says that not much was revealed, but the girl does sneak into a old house (of course!), and they say that the game looks like a Japanese-style horror film.
Kikuchi says that he thinks the Wii control scheme and horror games are a good match, and that we should look forward to this new Fatal Frame. What do you think? Do you think the pairing will work?
