Did you ever wonder what it would look like if you ripped a human spine from various orifices? No, just me then. Well, join me for a quick jaunt down the twisted and bloody world of The Darkness II with this new trailer.
Now, a little bit older and a little bit wiser, Jackie Estacado can now perform a wider range of execution moves with his Demon Arms, and can also unlock more through out the course of the game. The ridiculous executions moves in The Darkness helped make it stand out amoungst other FPS games at the time, for myself. I loved watching those tendrils fight over which one would get to eat the heart of my fallen enemy. Good times!
Make sure to stick around until the end of the trailer too, to see the fan-favorite "Assecution". The Darkness II will be hitting stores February 7 2012.
Garth Ennis had nothing to do with this game as far as we know. According to wikipedia.net.imtoofuckinglazytolookuparealsource, this one was written by none other than Paul Jenkins.
@Sir Legendhead:
I was referring to the comic book, but I probably should have clarified. I've never read The Darkness, but I know Ennis helped with the character.
I was trying to say that Garth Ennis's work can be pretty brutal, so I'm not really surpised that the the game has so much gore.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I was ever so close to beating the 1st one then just stopped playing, hopefully this one lives up and surpasses it's older sibling in every way.
Based on that trailer the game looks pretty shit, gore for the sakes of it!? Yay!
Seems about right for something co-created by Garth Ennis...
I'm mostly annoyed that Starbreeze isn't making the sequel.

Yup, starbreeze made the first game and the Riddick ones.
