It takes real panache for a person to humble themselves and admit that, perhaps, they are wrong. I stand before you a man so humbled. You see, I have operated under the assumption (the incorrect assumption, mind you) that the library of DS games available left something to be desired for some time now. I hadn't even picked up my own DS in months, sneering at it's obsidian sleekness as it collected dust, letting out an occasional haughty laugh as I let my sense of superiority (again, incorrectly assumed) get the better of me.
I have seen the light, and that light comes in the form of Professor Kageyama's Maths Training. Seriously, if there's one thing I can't get enough of it's incredibly boring homework I thought I had escaped years ago. I'd been hoping and praying for something along the lines of Sudoku 2: Electric Boogaloo; and did Nintendo come through? Hell yes they did, in spades and then some.
Nintendic reports that Maths Training's secret is repetition, featuring a "100 square calculation" method, 100 simple math problems are arranged in a 10 by 10 grid awaiting the touch of your frenzied numerophilic stylus. Sounds like a scorcher. Maths Training should see release February '08, I only pray I can wait that long.
Know that I feel a deep shame for my previous presumptuous statements disparaging the DS library; I hope in time to earn the forgiveness of you, my liebling toidertots, in spite of the knowledge that I don't deserve it.
[Thanks, Jonathan]
I leave you in a perpetual state of tantalizing agony, dangling lugubriously in the wind, companionless, minionless, with only your mental regurgitations and occasional bouts of cerebral spontaneous generation to inform your perusings upon the propriety of my usage of "lugubriously".
Also, I thought you were Jonathan Holmes for some reason.

...All of these games are grade 'A', top of the line video gaming, and they all came off the top of my head. I'm sure you'd find at least that many more if you dug deeper into the library. Yes, there is fluff, but that's to be expected when you're the top console in your market as the PS2 had plenty of fluff as well. Seriously, wtf is up with the DS hate?
There's never enough hate to go round, it's people's favourite past time. If you could bottle hate and sell it at a ridiculously high price, then have factories around the world pumping out bottled hate around the clock, you still wouldn't satisfy demand. People always need something to hate, it's the easiest and laziest thing in the world to do.
Not having a go at Qais Fulton, I'm just hoping that 2008 sees the back of game journalists who use articles as propaganda for their personal tastes.
We certainly don't need another "world famous" editor, if you get my drift.
@Colette Bennett:
Never played it... like I said, I just rattled off games I've played and had lots of fun with. I'll check out "Taiko No Tasujiin" on my not R4.
I agree. It's especially annoying that he didn't even try and get cozy with us at first and went straight to the hating in his first and second posts. That is ignoring the fact that he's flat out wrong...and ignoring the fact that he's an emo punk. I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt but this second post isn't filling me with confidence. At least Jim hates on the Wii with style, and it currently doesn't have the library that the DS has.
WHAT THE...
@shadow
Many dtoiders listen to/read The Weekly Geek, where Qais also posts and is on the podcast. He came here ALREADY cozy with the editors, just not you. So since he personally offended you for whatever made up reason, that gives you the right to be an asshole on the internet? I have an idea, quit being an asshole on the internet.
Who do you guys think you are, Tycho? I feel like I have to pull out a thesaurus to compete.
(ilikethatpeoplearecallinghimemonowinsteadofme.)
Let's be friends Quail.
You just sound like a moron. You misinterpreted what I said and you need to follow your own advice about being an asshole on the internet. At least comprehend what I'm saying before jumping to your asinine conclusions just because a few editors know who he is.
@Cheeburga: BFF 4 LYFE
We were lacking in pretentious douchebag editors here though, and he's got the Hot Topic looks to back it up even. So at least it fills the gap Nex left. Cheers to that.
I don't hate you but you do come off as a hater. The PSP has a lot of great games that I don't enjoy, but that doesn't make it a bad library, just bad for me. It just sounded like you were calling the DS library crappy overall, period.
The emo punk business is just fun to mess around with. I still love Chee even though he is emo-ish.
ChrisFurniss just seems to love defending you when someone says the slightest thing...he seems to take everything as an attack. Hell, I've been heavily active here and haven't even seen the guy post much before you became an editor.

It seems like the ideal time for the Dtoid credo:
STFUAJPG
I'm afraid my Spider Sense is tingling and I'm getting major Summa vibes. What are Summa vibes? Game journalists who come from the "Games Are Edgy And Cool Therefore I Must Align Myself With This Image At All Costs" school.
Every article is a reminder of their coolness, every article is a piece of personal propaganda which again reminds everyone how cool and edgy their choice of gaming is, and every article regarding anything that portrays gaming as uncool (usually Nintendo related stuff it has to be said) will be hated on.
So that's more or less a Summa vibe.
I really miss the pre "gaming is a cool lifestyle choice" game journalists, the old school guys who used to analyze the gaming medium with an objective professionalism, ironically those guys always had more charm and were a lot funnier.
Math= No fun
*Faps*
yeah for that you'd have to be editor in chief.
YA BURNT!
jk. increase the peace. xD
And this is from the original Nintendo DS fanboy; it's not for everybody. Welcome Qais!
Unfortunately it was only a few moments after that picture was taken that Eliza ate his brain meats, because, as we all know, that's how she rolls.
