Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Maybe my memory is a bit fuzzy. It has been a decade this week. I seem to remember Dreamcast games looking a bit better than the soon-to-be-released Rush Rush Rally Racing. To be fair, the game makers say that they're focused on retro game play rather than high-resolution realistic graphics. That's okay -- I loved R.C. Pro-Am on the NES!

The folks at Senile games noticed that it was Dreamcast week here on Destructoid, so they sent along details on Rush Rush Rally Racing. Senile Team and Red Spot Games (page crashed due to traffic) are bringing this new game to the Dreamcast in October, they say. When Red Spot fixes their page, this link will take you to a page where you can pre-order the title for $22. RRRR contains 10 courses and 3 multiplayer modes for up to four players. Judging from the trailer, it looks pretty fun.

I think it's cool that they're trying to sell a Dreamcast game after all of these years. Dreamcast fans, are you interested in this title?

That's neat. I wouldn't buy it though with all due respect.

It certainly looks like a labor of love by the devs but it doesn't really have "umph" that kind of pushes me over the edge.

I am however completely giddy that there are still people developing for the Dreamcast (I thought the last Dreamcast game ever was made like 3 tears ago).

If it actually looked like a Dreamcast game, and not a GBA game, I would consider buying it.

This looks more like a $5 XBLA/PSN/Wiiware game rather than a Dreamcast game. They are obviously trying to take advantage of the Dreamcast enthusiasts by releasing it on that console instead. I bet anything that if this weren't a Dreamcast game, no one would ever mention anything about this game at all. Clever marketing, but no thanks.

That wasn't the only Dreamcast game announced today! There was also an announcement of a game called Irides that looks like an updated version of Lumines with power ups and stuff. Check it out at http://www.goatstore.com/ and http://www.iridesgame.com/

A pre-order even gets you the iPhone version of the game... sweet!

I'm embarrased to say I don't own a Dreamcast...

Not sure if I'd get this. All i can think of when i watched the trailer is "YOU'RE WINNER !"

It would be nice if DC got a resurrection of sorts, if these games coming out were part of a revival. You (game devs!) produce a good game for the Dreamcast, I'll buy it. Honest!

I love top-down racers, but why Dreamcast?

@ dcman

That Irides game doesn't look any more impressive than this RRRR game. I watched the trailed, and it's a knock-off of Lumines.

From the comments here you can clearly see who is a Sega veteran and who is not. Has anyone of you bigmouthed "experts" played this game yet???? No? Strange. Most of the comments here are sounding exactly like it. Furthermore you should check your dictionary for the word RETRO. So please stop talking about things from which you haven't got the slightest idea.I will buy it, because I am an SEGA veteran since Sega made home consoles, and I've spend countless hours of gaming while some of you were shitting in the diapers and playing with your baby's rattles.
