Back in the golden age of videogames, game companies would use real actors in their commercials to promote their games. In a throwback to the old days, this new ad for Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie uses real actors as well.
Unlike the original ad, the actors in this ad look like they actually belong in an RPG rather then something like Xena: Warrior Princess. I've said this before and I'll say it again: 90s commercials > today's commercials.
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

I'd much rather have that than a bunch of pre-rendered crap that they pass as advertising now. At least they had the decency to show a little game play.
Why can't American advertisers be this brilliant and only make commercials that are 15 seconds long? Having the same redundant crap shoveled at me for half a minute only pisses me off, but a 15 sec advert will either intrigue me or at least allow me to disregard what I do not care about a whole lot easier.
Does Progressive really think I give two rats about "Flo" and her bubble-headed anecdotes, especially when I'm anxious to see what Sylar is going to do next? I don't, Progressive, OKAY, I don't. So take your red lipstick wearing, curiously ditsy, and strangely attractive insurance pimp and file her under "I-don't-give-a-s***"
...wait, where was I going with this? Oh! DQ9?! Sweet!
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Any news on IX that you can dig up? I would like to know if its ever coming here.
They haven't officially confirmed it yet, but they would be stupid not to. I would have to march down to their office and give them what for!
Knowing Squenix though, I would guess if it were to come out this year, it'll come out in the fall.

Seriously. I know this one never hit the states, but how many more remakes are we gonna endure before we get DQIX?
It's been out in Japan for over 6 months already and was supposedly delayed there to shorten the international release window.
What gives?
